Does this top look stupid?

Sorry, none of my friends are clothes people and I was a jeans and t shirt person until about six months ago. I’m obviously over-thinking this. I am 41 and have lost 35kg with all the attendant loose skin situation so don’t know why I’m trying out fancy Cos poly mix elastane sweaty nightmare tops!! I find it really striking but think it might be one of those delusion articles of clothing where the wearer is obsessed but it’s objectively terrible on them. I feel that S&B will be brutally honest. It’s navy btw, possibly the pics aren’t clear enough anyway

You look bloody brilliant 🤩

HannySweetRatty · 01/07/2026 20:58

You look lovely, your figure is great! I honestly can't see any loose skin on you. Your trousers are nice too. Please try to have confidence as I really think you look absolutely fine. 😀

Wisterical · 01/07/2026 21:13

You look gorgeous, congratulations on the weightloss. What fab arms you have! The top is fab, there's no issue with your bra and the barrel trousers give a good overall silhouette. You're cool, no need to worry at all. You could try various other colour trousers too.

Howldens · 02/07/2026 00:20

@pomeglamate I love the look!! Please can you link to the top. I need it!!

ANGIEPANGY77 · 02/07/2026 00:47

I love it!!! It compliments your body and looks great!

Did you not read the OP, @Howldens?

I think the top works well. But as others have said, not quite as well with those trousers. Aside from the cut (of the trousers) l feel the overall appearance is overly black. I think pairing the top with something lighter would work better.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 02/07/2026 07:30

I think I’d prefer the top over a sleek smooth skirt or fitted trousers not in black. I like the gathers and think it’s flattering.

Plasticdreams · 02/07/2026 07:34

You look great and your arms look amazing and really firm. Congratulations.

I really like the top on you and you could wear it with a variety of different bottoms. A wide leg lighter colour trouser might also look nice.

brunettemic · 03/07/2026 10:07

No but those glasses don’t and I’d get your liver checked, your face shouldn’t be that yellow.

henlake7 · 03/07/2026 10:15

idk, from some angles it looks great but from others it kinds looks like its pulling weirdly. Plus the fabric mix would put me right off, too sweaty!
You are looking fabulous though, congrats on the weight loss!

Hallywally · 03/07/2026 17:07

You have a fantastic figure but it’s too tight around the boobs.

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 03/07/2026 17:21

You look fab! ❤️

rosiebr · 03/07/2026 17:26

I feel like Cos make clothes for slim tall women with no boobs and you are slim but the top is too tight across your chest. If the next size up was too big on the shoulders etc, then I suspect it’s cut for the small breasted women that Cos like to cater to.

Ladygodalmighty · 06/07/2026 18:53

You look great 😍

Lilyspickled · 06/07/2026 19:56

ShorterMumma · 01/07/2026 10:23

You look great. The top is very flattering.

Was 35kg a typo? 🫨

35kg is 77lbs or 5.5 stone, not an unreasonable amount to lose, so I doubt it was a typo.

Garybarlowtopfan · 06/07/2026 20:04

Yes

This is a stunning outfit, you look superb and I actually think you're an undercover influencer for whoever is selling this..!

Mykneesareshot · 06/07/2026 21:28

The top is too small for your patooties. If you go to a bigger size I fear the arm holes will be too big. So a no from me.

TRS20 · 07/07/2026 08:53

I think you look fab

SourdoughSally · 07/07/2026 10:10

The top looks great, but I'd lose the moustache if I were you

Jamtomorrowneverjamtoday · 07/07/2026 10:21

pomeglamate · 01/07/2026 10:56

Thanks for the input everybody, I think I’ll follow my heart and keep it as a nice going-out too and try not to feel too shy when I wear it ☺️

thanks also for the interesting input about barrel trousers, I do really like the barrel style and am partial to an exaggerated silhouette but take everyone’s point that they are not necessarily the most flattering choice

(can’t believe my beautiful moustache is getting so much hate though!!)

I like the shape on you and think the top works fine with the trousers - looks contemporary and stylish to me

I assumed this too but recently discovered their trousers are brilliant on me (tall curvy hourglass mid sized). Haven't dared try a top yet though.

mondaytosunday · 07/07/2026 11:14

Top fine. Trousers no. I don’t think the barrel shape is flattering on anyone.
