Mitchum has ruined my white tops-alternatives please!

I switched to mitchum
gel a couple of years ago after recommendations on here. I still sweat but no longer smell sweaty. However, my white tops are a disaster of yellow stains under the arms even after one wear. This didn’t used to happen with Sure or Nivea but those didn’t prevent me smelling by the afternoon. I’ve tried the Sure stick and didn’t get on with it. I want a deodorant that dries completely and the sticks don’t. Roll ons don’t either now that there’s no alcohol in them. I have to dry my pits with a hairdryer before getting dressed.

I’m allergic to Driclor although it works great.

I’ve always been sweaty and am very active so I need something very effective but that won’t leave yellow stains. I thought it was my sun cream at first but it’s definitely the deodorant. Google tells me this has happened to others too. I replaced my favourite white tshirt and one wear ruined it. I’m going to try and get the stains out tomorrow. Proper luminous yellow, not just the yellow stains of my younger years.

I miss Sure Cool Pink. That was the business. Is there anything that smells similar? Or anywhere to get it? It’s the smell of happy pits and summer and happy times for me and I miss it so much.

Nivea Stress protect was good too but doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

Sanex Roll on (purple 'invisible' one)

BlackberryAppleCrumble · 01/07/2026 07:42

Clinique works for me. Switched from Mitchum because it gave me a terrible rash.

I know you said no roll ons because they take too long to dry, but I find if I put it on after a shower, then dry the rest of me and brush my hair, it’s dry by the time I put my clothes on.

Try crystal. Reviews are good.

The most effective one I've found personally is pitrok or salt of the earth. Normal antiperspirants didn't stop me sweating and I had BO after a couple of hours. The crystal deodorants don't stop you sweating but I have no odour at all. I just rub the crystal on wet arm pits straight after my shower. Sometimes I use a bit of Wild too if I want fragrance.

Speakeasier · 01/07/2026 07:49

Have you tried Fussy OP. I was a bit sceptical as I can smell quite strongly without deodorant after a while. But I’ve been amazed at how well it’s worked. I’m not even smelling the next day after getting sweaty in this ridiculously hot weather.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 01/07/2026 07:52

I had to swap to mitcham during perimenopause when the Wild/natural deodorants stopped doing the job in quite a spectacular way
but also noticed the ruination of my white tops
😫😫😫

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 01/07/2026 08:00

I've been using Gillette Sport Triumph. Yes it's for men, but it doesn't smell "manly", just fresh and clean. No stains on anything and it's very good. It's gel but dries quickly.

I gave up on Mitchum in the heatwave because it just didn't do anything!

Atleastitsnotsunstroke · 01/07/2026 08:09

Do you drink coffee? Caffeine can ramp up heat production.

Wear undershirts - I wear a lot of vests and tight tshirts as they keep my central body warm enough and can absorb sweat.

Try aluminium free deodorants. The yellow can be a chemical reaction between your sweat and aluminium.

Thatonebrokenbiscuit · 01/07/2026 08:15

I switched my daughter to sanex for sensitive pits after she had a reaction to normal deoderant & found it worked wonders for me too! Currently peri & found that my usual deoderants stopped working, but this has been a game changer! I also found Mitchum

Pinklightning · 01/07/2026 09:02

No caffeine at all since last September due to palpitations. sad times. I’m post-menopausal and walk a lot up big hills every day so do sweat a lot.
Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll give them a go.

Ive used mitchum for years, but I had a sample of Wild in a beauty box, I was v sceptical but its now my go to, no sweaty smell at all and my DH now converted too

FluffyFlipflops · 02/07/2026 10:26

Another vote for Fussy. I love the Parma Violet one but they do quite a few scents, I think there's also an unscented one. It really works. It also works on my usually super sweaty stinky 15 year old - he can get 2 days out of his school shirts now.
