Home hair dye - question re using with root cover up

I use Garnier to colour my hair. In between I usually use Josh Wood cover up.

But it's usually recommended to dye your hair with clean but not just washed hair. I wanted to dye my hair after work (so I'll have root touch up on and would need to wash it).

Any tips or do I just have to wait until a weekend?

You don't need to wash the root touch up off before dying your hair.

I use wow root cover up ( powder needs to be washed out ) and also go to the hairdressers . Sometimes I don’t have time to wash my hair before my hair appointment and have the root cover up on .
I put liquid soap ( an expensive one ) I suppose I could use shampoo as well on the roots only . I just wash my roots . I will then use wet wipes to wash the root cover out or a wet flannel . If you use a light coloured flannel / wipe you can see the product has come out . I then use another dry flannel to dry my roots . I suppose you could also do a quick blast of the hairdryer / hand dryer ( if suitable ) .
