Best eyeliner for age 50+?

I’m looking for decent eyeliner for age 50+. I keep getting adverts for zoeva on my Facebook but have been caught out by these ads before! Also maybe Victoria Beckham. Otherwise might have to go old school and head to a department store.

i have no skill with make up and I don’t know what I’m doing so rarely wear it. Any help appreciated x

I’ve got several Zoeva ones. They are very soft and need sharpening regularly. Some reviewers complain they don’t sharpen well, but I bought their sharpener and have had no issues. They blend beautifully when you use an eyeliner brush, giving you the option of a thinner line or a smoky look. I re-purchase when they run out. They arrive quickly too.

I like Zoeva and Victoria Beckham. Both are lovely and soft and blend really well. They stay put, too. They're the best I've found for my older skin - I'm early 60s and I don't wear make up much, but these are my go-tos.

Victoria Beckham. Best eye liner hands down.

I personally think the VB eyeliners are really overhyped. They're fine, but nothing special, to me at least. My fave eyeliner as a blue eyed person, is Mac's Costa Riche. Makes my eye colour pop and can be smudged out and used as an eyeshadow.

I love the Victoria Beckham eyeliner, but more usually now, I use a very fine brush and some dark brown eyeshadow as it creates a more flattering, softer look.

I used to like Victoria Beckham but I had two where the “lead” completely fell out of the pencil after a while. I love Hildun Beauty now. Great colours, they go on smoothly and stay put.
I also am not blessed with application skills and Hourglass do a really fine (0:5 mm) I think which is super thin and so easier for those of us who find eyeliner a challenge. There’s a great bronze shade which is very forgiving.
I tend to use Hildun on my upper waterline but Hourglass micro fine one if tightlining.

Thanks everyone, this is super helpful. I’d really like to use a little more than bb cream and randomly applied brown eyeliner when I go out so will look at these and the extra ones recommended too

Agree on VB and Zoeva being too soft - especially in summer! Also agree that MAC Costa Riche is hard to beat.

I love the Victoria Beckham ones and the Lisa Eldridge version, the formulations seem the same just different colours , they are easy to use on my aging eyelids!

I've been useing powder eye shadow with a slightly wet brush, it's seem to last longer in the heat.

I do this too. A fine eyeliner brush & a dark eyeshadow used either dry or damp depending on if you want a line or a more smudged look, very easy & lasts all day.

I love Victoria Beckham eyeliners but Lisa Eldridge is just as good and cheaper

PersephoneParlormaid · 26/06/2026 20:43

I’ve always used Rimmel, from when I was a teen, but now they are very soft and transfer onto my upper lids very easily. Are any of the ones you are recommending a ‘firmer’ pencil ?

legogal1 · 26/06/2026 20:52

Prime cosmetics for over 50 are really good especially their eyeliner which is waterproof, easy to put on and soft

I too think the VB eyeliners are overhyped as are the Hildun eyeliners.
Boots No 7 do amazingly soft ones.

These are the two that I use as well.

Avon glimerstick. Tried all the others. This just works and cheaply
