Recommendations for very hypoallergenic foundation or face tint for sensitive eyes

Very, very hypoallergenic foundation or face tint or something.

I have problems with allergies (probably mcas) and my eyes react to makeup. I have to be very careful with what I use on my face and I can't wear any foundation/bb cream/powder etc. or anything. I can get away with cerave moisturiser and facewash. The actual skin is okay, it's just my eyes that react. Avoiding the eye area doesn't help.

Can anyone who has allergies recommend anything I can get for some colour on my face? I'm very pale and get fed up with looking like a ghost. Is there a range of makeup which I might tolerate? I haven't worn anything for about 15 years and I'm just wondering if things have improved allergy wise with regards to products.

Hi OP,

I had exactly the same issue and went through dermatology allergy testing.
I now use Rare Beauty which comes in very pale shades, or Lisa Eldridge which also does. I also love Weatman Ateleier skin tint which also has suitable shades but is very expensive so only buy when on offer!

For now, with skincare and makeup, look at ingredeitnts: try cutting out anything with Limonene, Linalool, fragrance, and anything beginning benyzl

I developed allergies to make up after having children. The only face tint I could tolerate was Bare Minerals Hydra Tint. I also use Chanel water fresh now which also seems to be ok.

Post menopause I became allergic to loads. The foundation/tint that has been good is Elf Halo glow liquid filter. For under eye dark circles the Beauty pie super luminous corrector. English mineral make up also good if you prefer a powder. Not sure of this is helpful but I now avoid anything with Acrylates in. (Many many mascaras have that in) Tocepherol is fine (vit e) but not if it’s the synthetic kind so avoid Tocepherol Acetate or anything with Acetate in.

I came on here to recommend Bare Minerals hydra tint as well. My skin has become incredibly reactive in the last few years, but tolerates this absolutely fine.

I am very similar, I react to most things and can’t wear a lot of make up now.
I have been finding the Yuka app helpful, I know there are mixed opinions on it but I do find what scores good or bad tends to align with what my skin says!
I am currently using a Gosh mineral powder from Amazon that scores well on Yuka and my skin and eyes are ok with.
