Ideas for a flattering black tie outfit for an apple shape

I have a black tie event to go to later this year and will be going up on stage to collect an award. I am very much out of my comfort zone in fancy dresses and need some ideas.
I am a size 18 at the moment and would like to cover my arms at the top. I am losing weight and could be a size smaller by the event. I am 5'10" and have apple shape.
Please help!

I think Monsoon and Coast would be a good place to start looking and depending on how apple you are I would look at maxi dresses with the waistline high so that they have an a line shape that will fall softly over your tummy.

Have a look at Hope and Ivy. Flattering shape with flutter sleeves and very reasonably priced on the whole.
