Bruised badly after under eye treatment, delay cheek filler before wedding?

I had some under eye treatments a few weeks ago and bruised badly. It’s not a complaint, I knew it was a risk, but I’ve booked in for mid cheek filler in a month and wondering if I should delay. We’re going to a wedding a fortnight after.

Of course no one can predict if I’ll bruise but I’m wondering if this is the norm.

2 weeks should be fine 👍
Do you take blood thinners or any SSRIs?

avoid alcohol, caffeine, vitamin e, omegas and fish oil.

I have under eye polynucleotides three times, first time bruising was bad, second not so much and the third more bruising. Within about 4/5 days all bruising had gone.
I have also had filler and only tiny bruise on the injection site.
How long were you bruised for?
The more I kept up with ice packs, the less bruising I had.

Arnica gel is good for bruising too.

Thank you. I iced it in the salon for about 5 minutes then put on Arnica cream when I got home, the bruise was already coming out. In hindsight I should’ve ice much longer.
It was a real shiner in one eye, looked like I’d been punched. Thank goodness for heavy duty concealer.

I don’t take any of the supplements or medications but I do eat flaxseed which is high in omega3.

I reckon I might risk it but with more ice.
out of interest, for those who had cheek filler, did it make a difference?

thanks again.

I have filler including cheek filler. It’s brilliant and yes definitely made a difference. I would say about ten days for all soreness to go I felt bruised but only actually bruised on my jaw. I felt like the actually result was properly visible after three weeks…. It’s didn’t look bad before then but looked more natural and settled then.

Why do you have to avoid vitamin E, omegas and fish oils? Do they have a negative impact on the treatment?

2 weeks is plenty.

I eat pineapple for a couple of days before and after as it has an anti inflammatory enzymes as well as arnica tablets.

I had filler 10 days ago and bruised badly but it’s mainly gone now and any bits can be easily covered with make up. I have a blood clotting disorder so bruise like a peach but it wasn’t too bad to be honest

I had cheek filler last week and although I usually bruise like a peach (I think it’s because I’m super fair skinned) I didn’t bruise at all. The nurse put a cannula in my cheek and gave me filler through this. My cheekbone felt really achy for about 4 days and I had a little dot where she injected but no bruising thank goodness! I do meanwhile have a bruise from the Botox I got at the same time in my crows feet! I think even if you do bruise it will be a tiny bruise and should disappear by two weeks.

Gonnaeatalotofpeaches · 18/06/2026 11:57

Ask for a cannula if you get the filler, it helps reduce the risk of bruising.

I wouldn’t have any injectable up to 4 weeks before a big event like a wedding
