Affordable alternatives to Beyond Nine trousers

I saw a woman walking her dog the other day, wearing a pair of brown and black striped wide leg cropped trousers, a really wide vertical stripe with a horizontally-striped section at the bottom. She looked amazing, very effortless and cool, which I would love to emulate!

I went home and searched for the trousers, and fairly quickly found them - Beyond Nine, the Bobbi linen trousers. Way over my budget unfortunately, especially for, in all honesty, a pair of untailored summery trousers that might not wash too well and will definitely need ironed! I'm on more of a supermarket/Primark/Vinted budget... there are some pairs on Vinted but still £60+ and I don't trust Vinted enough to spend more than maybe £25, and then only if it's something I am positive will fit (replacing a certain item etc) and really, really want/need.

A rabbit hole later, I did come across some sort of copies on Amazon. Not the wide stripe, but a gingham co-ord set similar to another Beyond Nine set, within my budget, but mixed reviews on fabric, cut, and fit. I wondered if anyone here might have any experience of these sort of Amazon ones, or recommendations for any other Beyond Nine dupes, preferably somewhere I could go and try on or at least with easy returns? It doesn't have to be a co-ord set, could just be the trousers. Budget-wise, if they were really amazing, I'd go to £40, but can't justify more at the moment.

Hi, I can’t think of nice quality dupes but if you or a friend is handy with a sewing machine try mystitchydiary on Insta. She has made a lovely top and trousers in deadstock Beyond Nine fabric. The trousers take about 1.5 metres of fabric at £24 a metre.

Another recommendation for trying to make some. I saw the trousers on someone at work and went home and made a co ord set for under £30 (I can add a pic if anyone wants) maybe you know someone who can sew? The set would have cost over £200

The Beyond 9 website has quite a lot of non-linen, but the same style, trousers at around £70. And if you have any tendency to chub-rub, linen tends to wear through very quickly, so going for a tougher material might be better.

I also noticed a lot of links to Beyond 9 dupes!

Next has some very Beyond Nine-esque styles this summer.

I ordered a couple of pairs of BN's Mabel trousers and didn't get the fuss. I love an exaggerated trouser shape but everything seemed enormous and I couldn't see that the price was justified.

Tu sometimes due stuff that looks like a good dupe

cannaethink · 08/06/2026 17:57

I have the gingham Amazon dupe.
They are 100% rayon, and I think they feel and look quite like cotton/linen. They have pockets.
I sized up which I’d recommend to get the oversized look. I do find them a bit short but I’m 5’8
I keep meaning to buy some fabric and make my own as they are pretty basic.

ShutterHaze · 25/06/2026 19:13

Do you have the link for these please @cannaethink? Thanks in advance!

coronafiona · 25/06/2026 19:18

They’re reduced on the website at the moment to £87 OP

Have a look at the Kate trousers from Turtledove London.

Have a look at next girls barrel trousers up to age 16! I just bought some Amazon ones today and excited to try them on it also the next one

What annoys me about beyond 9 is you have to pay for shipping (fair enough) and then they also deduct a return fee - so I ended up paying about £10 just to receive and try on and return a pair of trousers (which were huge - despite me checking measurements etc). So I haven’t tried again, but agree the designs are lovely

If you return the entire order they’re legally obligated to refund the shipping fee if you don’t upgrade from the standard service, if you do they only have to refund what the standard service would have cost. A lot of online shops (including some very big names) try to ignore this rule.

I always see “dupes” of these on TikTok - presumably on TikTok Shop.

Per pp, I bought some trousers from Beyond Nine, it wasn’t these, they were barrel leg cords in winter. They were absolutely gigantic, and I am a big fan of an oversized look - my DP was pissing himself. I followed the side guide (I’m a UK 12 which I think translated to small) but they were packaged up for return quick smart, which I then had to pay for. (They do absolutely masses of influencer gifting so I guess they need to claw money back somewhere.)

The influencer gifting drives me mad - I feel
like my instagram is flooded with them but wonder how many people actually buy them…

I’ve got some off TikTok shop and Vinted. You want the ones that are a thicker material, though I’ve a lovely lightweight striped set that are a silky polyester which I’ve had loads of compliments over.

you can pick up these on Vinted for £3-8 to give them a try on a budget

I got some similar trousers from the Next children’s range - age 13 = size 8.

I have way too many pairs of BN trousers but I was a person who never ever found trousers comfy, they’ve changed my wardrobe completely. They are pricey but worth every penny. I recently got a 20% off code and also have bought in the sale. I wore the linen ones to work yesterday and 3 people asked me where they were from.
