Hair straightening recommendations

I straighten my hair intermittently but want to do it more regularly. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good not too expensive heat protection spray and also what I can put on after to make it look sleek and shiny?

Also should I wait for heat spray to dry naturally as this obviously takes an age or can I spray on and then dry it with hairdryer before straightening?

I really like the Dyson airstraight. Expensive to buy but does a fantastic job, quickly - and because it's air rather than hot plates, feels like it isn't damaging your hair
