Swimwear that covers the bum cheeks!

This is something that’s bugged me for years but this year it seems particularly bad. Why is the vast majority of women’s swimwear cut so that half the bum cheek is hanging out the back of it. It looks horrible (on most of us) and feels uncomfortable. This year I’m also trying to help my 16yo DD choose some swimwear and she also hates the cut of the bottoms. So far we’ve found ‘tug less’ ones by Lands End for one pieces but can can anyone recommend a bikini brand?

I literally opened this to recommend the tugless lands end one which I wear!! So sorry no help. But same irritation.

I don’t have a bikini recommendation but a similar thread on here recently suggested finding brands/ranges that offer a long option which I think it’s a great suggestion. Sorry, doesn’t help you op but might be useful for anyone else who spots this thread and is looking for recommendations.

I agree with you - and even the full briefs seem to be cut diagonally to reveal bum cheeks. In the end I gave up and went for a a tankini with small shorts shorts that looks 1950s retro.

Me too. Although I usually have to buy on-line as it’s hard to find a range in the shops.

Speedo black swimming shorts (tight fitting, like a swimsuit). Then any similar tankini/bikini top.

If you type bum coverage bikini or low leg bikini you should find plenty online.
Higher cut seem to be trending, so there's a lot of those about, but you can definitely still find other styles

Another vote for board shorts here. They are comfortable, cover your bum and no quandary about bikini line shaving nonsense 😁

Same - I buy online too as shops on the high street don't seem to stock them.

Short boardshorts here too ( fab black pair from Mountain Warehouse) . And a bikini top or surf style rash tshirt. No more tugging pants and bikini to the right place. I'm comfy and never have to double check that everything is in the right place getting out of the water! I really think it's the way forward.

For poolside / holiday I really rate M &S swimsuits. My bum is well covered. For proper swimming, I wear Speedo but don’t get the racing version / they literally cut your bum in half, I think mine are called Classic

I found John Lewis own brand swimwear good for bum coverage.

Next do a high waist bikini set. Dd has this set and it looks good.

Slazenger swimming costumes with the shorts style on the bottom half are my go to. I get them in sports direct.

Elomi mid rise bikini bottoms offer good bum coverage. I buy them from belle lingerie as they also do bikini tops in bra sizes. Have also bought direct from elomi as they have an outlet section with cheaper prices

For anyone who wears bikini shorts…do they ride up? I really like the Next ones but worry that the legs will roll themselves up over my thighs when I move and I’ll look like I’m wearing bikini bottoms anyway!

Mine don't - they're tight fitting with lycra so stay in place

My suit for swimming is M&S Goodmove, and it covers boobs and bum properly without shifting.

Very's bikini bottoms are great for coverage.

Oh these look good! Proper bum coverage but not shorts.

I have these which are also by John Lewis and they are good for covering my ample bum and staying put. The tie side version of the bottoms also has good bum coverage, unusually for a skimpier style.
