What would you buy with £50 from John Lewis?

I got a £50 voucher for John Lewis for my birthday. I probably won’t be adding any of my own money to it.

Inspire me! What would you buy?

I'd probably use it in Waitrose!

OnceYoureToastYouCanNeverBeBread · 03/06/2026 17:23

I’d buy Erborian cc cream or Neom ‘perfect nights sleep’ essential oil.

Bjorkdidit · 03/06/2026 17:31

Lego probably the tulips or other flowers.

If there's a bit left over, tea and cake in the cafe.

Arlanymor · 03/06/2026 17:39

I'd book a Beauty Society appointment.

hellospring26 · 03/06/2026 17:42

Waitrose. I don’t need anything from JL

OhThePotential · 03/06/2026 23:50

Chocolates and magazines from Waitrose.

VoteForCurlews · 04/06/2026 00:09

I'd be quite tempted to get a couple of duck down pillows (need new ones, but not so badly that they ever get close to the top of the list of things to buy). I bet I could also find a nice summer top for very close to 50 quid (ed. there are 2 actually), although I'd wait and see if one of the things on my wishlist goes on sale. An uncoated frying pan, preferably with optional lid. I'd use up any underspend on a multipack of knickers or socks (although I'm cross that JL no longer does 100% cotton thongs). A cushion if I was feeling frivolous.

minipie · 04/06/2026 00:09

Makeup, but I’d wait till they do an offer

redboxerclub · 04/06/2026 00:10

YSL blush or Dior Balm or a card holder

iwishihadaname · 04/06/2026 00:19

Fabric

ThreeGoldilocks · 04/06/2026 02:15

I just bought an electric neck cooler for £15.

Maybe also a diffuser if you like those sort of things.

Placestogo · 04/06/2026 06:06

Id look online for their sales section and make the most of my £50

PermanentTemporary · 04/06/2026 06:11

Charlotte Tilbury powder and sculpt brush
Large china platter for big salads

curious79 · 04/06/2026 06:13

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy glow bronzing cream. Exactly £50. Beautiful product and the nicest, longest lasting bronzer on the market. Your skin looks amazing with it on - just apply with fingers

OneNewEagle · 04/06/2026 08:57

A new dinner set, my last one was from there costing less than that.

and a birthday cake or food from waitrose.

Nitgel · 04/06/2026 08:59

About 10 billion things. I can't understand the poster who says they don't need anything from jl 😂

JacknDiane · 04/06/2026 09:25

I always need something from jl!!!

But it's an expensive option for people who generally buy their household items from supermarkets, Ikea, The Range etc.

Plus their stores are massive and overwhelming. I couldn't imagine anything worse than trying to find something to buy in there. Also there's not that many of them around - it's only the last few years that there's been one in my city, so I've had decades of managing fine without one.

I might get something from there, but it's rarely going to be my first choice unless it comes up as the cheapest option when I want something specific, eg Lego and look online. And even then I could just as well get it from somewhere else unless I'm deliberately trying to use up a voucher.

Moveoverdarlin · 04/06/2026 09:51

Make-up - Charlotte Tilbury magic cream probably.

Roundaboot · 04/06/2026 09:54

I'm running out of my favourite Laura Mercier eyeshadow stick, so I'd replenish that, and I also really want to try the new Black Honey lip-liner. I could spend £50 very easily in JL!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 04/06/2026 09:56

Maybe makeup and skincare.

BunnyLake · 04/06/2026 13:44

A rice cooker. I really miss mine (gave to son for uni).

I love my Zojirushi rice cooker second only to the washing machine. I would not be without it now.
