Does anyone have this dress? How oversized is it? I’m a size 8 and not sure if it will be huge. thanks in advance

I bought one last year in orange (don’t like these new colours - one looks like a deck chair!). I’m a size 12 and even the smallest size was big, but it’s meant to be.

Flickitspinittwistitbopit · 26/05/2026 07:05

Not tried it but thinking of u - it looks fab! Floaty vibrant colours and pockets 😍

Last year's orange looks amazing - @whirlyhead if you're thinking of getting rid DM me 😃

noramoo · 26/05/2026 09:50

Yes I have the leopard print! The fabric is nice and light - it is floaty and oversized but watch out for the bust. It has an internal panel that is more fitted, and as a size 14 I had to get the L/XL otherwise it would be too tight across the chest (I am a 36F).

themisspoggle · 26/05/2026 10:07

thanks everyone

@whirlyhead if the XS was big on a 12 I wonder if it will be too big on an 8. But I am also big busted.

I will order one and see since no one has said it's ridiculously large as Hush dresses can be

Depending on how big your bust is I would consider the S/M even as a size 8, as if it's tight across the chest it won't give the right "drapey" effect!

cheezncrackers · 26/05/2026 10:21

Hush always comes up big IME. I'm a 10 and often find the XS is plenty big enough in their baggy styles.

themisspoggle · 26/05/2026 10:21

@noramoo I had better order both. Thanks for your help

I'm size 10 and find Hush stuff is always way to big for me so I size down.

whirlyhead · 26/05/2026 15:49

I am a size 12, 34e bust and my one is an s/m size and is quite generous over the bust. It drapes quite well so doesn’t look huge. I have an even older version of the dress in a size s which fits fine as well. The latest version also still has the tags on so I must actually try and wear the jolly thing this year!!

SiberFox · 26/05/2026 18:35

I have this in black. Normally size 8-10 on top and 10-12 bottom, bottom is absolutely massive here so it’s just the top size. I had to go for XS-S. Probably size up if a big bust

ladyme · 26/05/2026 19:06

I’m size 8 and short, I ordered this in two colours in the smallest size and they looked ridiculous on me. I ended up sending them back and ordered these instead which I didn’t like the look of online but actually suited me so much more. Have had loads of compliments as well www.hush-uk.com/air-flow-gathered-straps-midi-dress-soft-leopard/013036-4604.html

How tall are you? And where did the dresses fall on you?

ladyme · 26/05/2026 20:44

I’m about 5’2 and I’d say just above ankle. Def go for the smallest size if you’re an 8.

FairKoala · 26/05/2026 21:05

I am short and wouldn’t even try anything longer than 110cm

I could sweep the streets in these dresses.

Most stuff nowadays, even when I try it against me has inches on the floor or just makes me look like a sack of spuds.

That's really nice. I'm 5' 9ish though, so I wish it came in a longer length!

HogletPatricia · 27/05/2026 11:04

Sorry to hijack the thread, but wondering if any pear shaped/larger folk have tried this and how did you find it? I'm a size 14 with a small bust and "substantial" hips and legs. I can't figure out if this dress is perfect for me or would look horrific 😂

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 27/05/2026 11:28

Who calls a dress ‘barrel tank’ and wants people to feel good in it??
Madness.
(obviously know I’m in the minority, just clicked on the link and seen that it is out of stock so many people must be happy to part with £100 to be called a barrel tank. Must be a me problem 😂)

NancyBellaDonna · 27/05/2026 17:41

I was looking at the Liddle this morning and wondering 'shall I, shan't I?'. I was worried the top would be a bit baggy around the bosoms area.
I've just looked on the link again and seen it's viscose. Not going to part with a hundred quid for viscose. That would feel like a roasting bag on me. 😓Although I must admit I quite liked the deckchair stripe. It had a sort of cheery seaside air to it.

Someone else said it looked like deckchair material - but I like the stripe too!

It's Lenzing Ecovero viscose though - which is lightweight & breathable & airy? As well as being the least polluting/water-consuming type of viscose there is? I find it very comfy to wear in summer - & I overheat really quickly.

NeedANewOne25 · 28/05/2026 08:06

I have a dress in that fabric that was £35 in the outlet part of the online store, it’s really nice to wear, and not like normal viscose. It’s like a matte satin with a slight texture to it.

MerryLimeMember · 28/05/2026 08:49

I purchased the leopard print design in John Lewis yesterday with a discount for members day. I am a size 12/14, wears 36G bra, the dress loose, feels amazing and will be appreciated on my up and coming holiday, however far more flattering with an inch wide belt..

OvertiredandConfused · 28/05/2026 15:46

I have the black one and wore it last week when the temperature was 30+. It was so light, it felt like I wasn't wearing anything!

I am a size 16 and wear 36F. The XL fits but could probably size down.

whirlyhead · 28/05/2026 15:59

I live in Spain so it gets into the 40s here, and I have worn the older version of the dress when it’s that hot and I was fine. Well, as fine as it’s possible to be when it’s that hot!
