Has anyone had cryotherapy for seborrhoeic keratosis?

Not sure if this should be in style and beauty or health but has anyone had cryotherapy to treat seborrhoeic keratosis? I have lots on my abdomen, pretty much covering from my bra line to just under my belly button and although I’m in my 50’s and not in my crop top era I still would rather get rid of them.

My husband had some removed from his face by cryotherapy, he was fine, he said it was a bit uncomfortable but didn't hurt. They haven't come back and this was two years ago.

Yes, one on neck, it was fine. Follow the aftercare.

I had biggest ones on my back removed. Still covered though so would ideally like others done.

Justcallmecarmen · 25/05/2026 20:07

Yes I found it really good

I had one removed on my forehead, it came back 3 years later so ive had it done again...

Yes, I had loads removed along with a zillion skin tags by a private dermatologist in December. As I had so many things frozen it was quite painful for a couple of days, but everything peeled off and dropped off nicely

I applied salicylic acid for several days and picked off the two I had on my back.

Where did you go, if you don’t mind me asking, and what did it cost?

Jennalong · 25/05/2026 21:12

I've recently had some removed from my face but have a lot on my back . It wasn't painful and a few months in they show no sign of coming back .
The cost was £50 for one and £25 for each other one but that does cover another appointment to try again if any were resistant . I had two redone , one has gone ( but one on my eye ) is greatly reduced but still there . I'm leaving it at that for the time being as you start again re pricing .
The ones on my back I'm planning on trying to self treat ( Google the suggested home treatments ) as that would cost a fair amount to remove in clinic .

I was hoping I could find somewhere that will do so many in a certain amount of time. I can’t even count how many I have so it’s no point just doing one at a time each appointment, I want quite a few zapping! I’ve had them checked and they are definitely seb k’s, I’ve tried a few home treatment options but had no success (I think partly as they need trying for quite long time to work)

I had an appointment where they zapped as many as they could in 30 minutes.

OneSunnyHiker · 26/05/2026 02:11

I had mine frozen by a dermatologist at Nuffield hospital in Cardiff a few months ago. He did loads for a fixed fee which included an initial consultation fee. Future appointments will be cheaper - I still have loads. It stung a little but was absolutely fine.

I went to a clinic at a GP surgery for private treatment. £200 for as many as they could do. However the injection was excruciating so I had 2 done and called it quits. I've had these injections before and nowhere near as painful so I'm thinking it might be the doctor,??? However it's making me think twice about repeating.

Dunnow1 · 26/05/2026 22:46

@SpringingOn was this a ‘chain’ clinic or aesthetics type place?

It was a private GP/dermatology practice.

DH had one on his chest done. Took seconds.
