Have you tried pimple patches?

Horselover90 · 23/05/2026 15:56

If it’s white it needs squeezing, then it’ll go down and dry up quickly.

salicylic acid based washes and topical solutions are ideal to dry it out (boots, Superdrug)

SummerFeverVenice · 23/05/2026 15:59

I always used a hot compress until the white head broke on its own, then a bit of savlon. Edit: do not squeeze

KellsBells7 · 23/05/2026 16:00

Pop it. Break the skin above it with a sterilised needle first to minimise the squeezing needed. Extra points if you take photos and post them in sporner corner!

muddyford · 23/05/2026 16:00

Spot dots or similar.

GonetoGreece1982 · 23/05/2026 16:02

Pop it or apply a pimple patch.

StationJack · 23/05/2026 16:03

Put some hand sanitizer on it.

ElectricSnail · 23/05/2026 16:06

I’d 100% be popping that with a sterilised needle, then squeezing, irrespective of whether it was a good idea or not :);

Legolaslady · 23/05/2026 16:48

Pop...squeeze ..sudocrem

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 23/05/2026 16:49

Pimple patch.

Use a needle then a pore strip. DH had a milia years ago that I did that to. It came out like a perfect tiny pearl. Sigh. Then it fell into the bath.

curiousbyprocess0614 · 25/05/2026 19:41

Probably either a closed comedone or a milia? For a closed comedone, a salicylic acid spot treatment applied consistently. For milia, topical tretinoin or a gentle glycolic acid. Best to have GP/derma appointment first.

Thank you!
Am currently on the salycilic patches (thank you Amazon!!)

Careful it isn't a cyst. I have one on my neck and was advised I needed it surgically removed (it is in a very awkward place and my local hospital won't touch it, so they referred me to our big teaching hospital, but after discussion, I decided to leave it). It got infected and I ended up in A& E with it.

dizzyupthegirl86 · 25/05/2026 21:15

For spots that haven’t yet come to a head, I use a dab of face oil on it as often as I can and it sort of seems to encourage it to come to the surface. Then a hot flannel held over the top of it

TigerDroveAgain · 25/05/2026 21:16

Toothpaste will sort it

stardust7777 · 25/05/2026 21:17

Are there actually real people out there who don’t squeeze their whiteheads??! Surely life is too short 🤣🤣😆

B0D · 25/05/2026 21:46

You can make a paste with a soluble aspirin and stick it on when you go to bed

WhatHappenedToYourFurnitureCuz · 25/05/2026 21:49

Apparently also people who would see a GP for a whitehead😳

KittyCorncrake · 25/05/2026 21:57

Squeezing no!

This is exactly what I would do!

ReadySaltedSquares · 26/05/2026 23:12

Hottest water you can handle on a cotton pad - hold it firmly on top until it pops. Press for a bit longer then aftershave/toothpaste/sudocream
