I don’t live in London so will be coming for a weekend and going to the show. I mention that as I will be packing relatively light and need other clothes so can’t bring loads of options.
Do people get dressed up? Fancy dress? Does it get really hot in there?
I am hourglass shape size 14 so I want to feel good in my outfit and comfortable (ideally don’t want to wear spanx).
Thanks in advance!

Anything at all. I saw jogging bottoms, sequin flares, chinos and shirts, lots of jeans and t-shirts.

SirChenjins · 21/05/2026 18:09

A few people were dressed up when we went, but the vast majority were just in normal going out stuff - jeans and a nice top type thing.

Saladcreamormayo · 21/05/2026 18:11

my mum went with a gang of her friends last year and none of them dressed up so each to there own i suppose. i dont recall her saying it was particularly hot in there. she did say it was really good and they all enjoyed it.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 21/05/2026 18:23

Anything goes, dress up to more casual.

HappiestSleeping · 21/05/2026 18:31

Everyone was naked when I went. Make sure you aren't going to the naturist evening.

HappiestSleeping · 21/05/2026 18:32

P.S. I am joking.

Hmm, I must have a look for tickets then! 👀😂

chasetheace99 · 21/05/2026 20:09

Def agree it was very hot in there - I wore a sleeveless cotton shift dress and was still hot.

FabuIous · 21/05/2026 20:11

Oh I didn’t find it hot.

I’d say 20% were in sequined trousers sort of thing, 40% in slightly eveningy top and jeans sort of level and 40% totally casual.

Aleiha · 21/05/2026 20:11

we did full costume. When we went I’d say it was about 25% fully dressed up, about another 25% made some gesture eg sequins, make up and 70s hair but with jeans, half not dressed up at all. Enjoy - it’s fab

StampOnTheGround · 21/05/2026 20:18

Literally anything, from dressed up in outfits, to dressed up generally, to jeans and a nice top, to literally just standard normal
clothes! Have fun, it was great!

TheOGCCL · 21/05/2026 21:43

Anything goes. Me and my friends had tshirts with dance themed slogans (not Abba) then just jeans. Another time I wore a sequin shirt. It's a modern auditorium so not especially hot imo. The bar/lobby area can be chilly as it's basically a big hut but that won't be an issue if you are going in the summer.

Trumptontown · 21/05/2026 21:52

I didn’t dress up but almost wish I had - there were some great jump suits and sparkly numbers on show.

A distant friend booked group tickets for her birthday, but I've since found out she booked standing only- no seats! Does anyone know how long the sets are, or if there is seating elsewhere? I'm only late 40's but have arthritic knees and would have paid extra to get a seat. Any advice appreciated.

you won't want to be in seats. The dance floor is by far the best place to be. It isn't packed like a concert so you'll be able to go and sit down if you need to for your knee (you can go in and out to get drinks etc and you can sit in the area just outside ).

Thank you so much for the info x

I think it must depend on the night - I've been and so have several friends, and the dance floor was packed each time.

when we went it was certainly busy but you would be able to get in and out easily enough and then easily refind your group.

when we went a conga was formed at one point!

That sounds like fun! Love a conga 😁

It does sound like it varies from night to night. The whole show is brilliant, regardless of where you are though 😊

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 24/05/2026 14:05

Anyone tried a dance booth?

Jungfraujoch · 24/05/2026 16:33

This was us! Normal clothes but caps and boas! Was on the dance floor - not hot! You’ll love it!

hahabahbag · 24/05/2026 16:36

Dd wore a cotton dress when she went, the kind of thing that passes muster for pretty much anything but black tie

soontobeamama · 24/05/2026 16:39

Literally anything goes - some people are dressed up in sequins or flares, others in wigs, glasses, platforms, full on 70s clothes, fancy dress, others in ABBA T-shirts, but to be honest, the majority of people were very casually dressed wearing things like jeans and a top.

Wear what you feel comfortable in - the arena is air conditioned so won’t be too hot inside - enjoy yourself, it’s an incredible show!

ktopfwcv · 24/05/2026 16:39

We wore sparkly dresses! But you can wear whatever you want. 😊 Not hot!
