Has anyone come across mobile make-up try-on parties?

Why has no-one thought of this as a business idea? Or have they?

A mobile make-up service, bit like a Tupperware party. Coming to your home/local hall with a large selection of make up (types agreed beforehand) so you can try loads of different foundations mascaras etc before shelling out, sometimes quite a lot of money.

Could be done as a party with drinks etc or just one to one.

You would make money by charging a small amount pp, £20ish and you'd also get would also get a percentage of any items ordered.

I must be missing something as I'd definitely go to one but have never heard of it,

Avon, Oriflame and Body Shop all used to do these types of parties, but I don’t know of any now

You're right but I was thinking more of someone offering items from all the different companies, mixture of high and medium end - Chanel, Estée Lauder, Origins No 7 etc

Yes, that would be good!

or just buy from qvc where you have 60 days to try on makeup, eat their food, use their shoes, handbags, everything. what you dont like you send back. they expect you to use some so youre not taking the piss.

i dont want to pay someone £20 to try on makeup and be expected to buy something too. but maybe it’s just me?!

Why would anyone pay £20 entry when they could just go to a department store and try everything for free?

PhaedraTwo · 20/05/2026 21:18

The logistics of that would be impossible. You'd have to organise a contract with each company and most, probably all of them, wouldn't be interested. Chanel isn't sold in Superdrug so they're certainly not going to do a deal with a mobile pop up make up party planner.

I get that you can go to a store but personally I'd rather be in a relaxed environment, maybe with friends and drinks and nibbles.

i only posted as I was interested if anyone felt the same,

That's true - probably why it's never happened!
