Beach holiday outfits and swimwear

I’m going on a beach holiday somewhere hot. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this kind of holiday. I’d been hoping to lose some weight but have failed. I’m about 11.5 stones and 5’6”, usually a size 14. Quite big boobs, long legs but a bit more round than I’d like at the middle. Can anyone suggest any beachwear (floaty, linen, wide legged trousers or maxi skirts/dresses?) and swimwear that’ll make me feel really good? For swimwear I tend to prefer tankinis or one pieces, ideally with shorts/longer legs. Support on top is usually quite good too.

I’m similar weight, height and big boobed. I got some good swimwear last year from Pour Moi which is cup sized and very well fitting. Cupshe is good for cover ups and beach dresses

Bravissimo for swimwear, definitley worth the money

Fantasie swimwear are great. Any of their twist top bikinis or swimsuits give a great shape. I was overweight a couple of years ago (still am lol) and tried some on and the shape they give you was fantastic compared to others I tried on either John Lewis or Fenwicks. U can get good reductions online but I happily paid £84 for a swimsuit - it was worth it!

Thanks all. I’ll take a look. What kind of things are people wearing on hot (mostly) beach holidays?

I’d second Bravissimo for swimwear. When I was carrying a bit of weight I wore a cup-sized one piece from them and generally felt pretty good in it.

The “generally” qualifier is about heat & climate - how hot is it going to be where you’re going? My only caution is that if you’re heading for 30C+ temperatures covering your belly can be excruciatingly hot. I made that mistake in Italy a few years ago and felt a bit foolish being the only person on the beach sweltering in a one piece. Every other woman - all ages, all sizes - was in a bikini with the option of a light cover-up.

Following with interest. At 73, also with a tummy, I wear bikinis with high-rise bottoms and bandeau tops (I'm missing a boob so cups look ridiculous). My quarry this year is a floaty cover-up that covers my old knees. They are all either thigh length and I feel over exposed walking down to the beach, or full-length kaftans that take up too much suitcase space and are a bit hot. Not hijacking but following keenly!

Monsoon has some longer beach kaftans.
