Struggling to find anything I like

Not sure if it's just the head space I'm in, as I've been going through a break up. I can't see any clothes I like any where. I'm early 40s, and maybe looking for something slightly alternative. I live in trainers, and don't usually wear anything too "girly". I'm over weight, but trying to lose. I'm average height with big boobs that need a good bra. Where are all the nice, flattering clothes? All the clothes look so boring. Just black, white, grey, beige boring. I need help

I dunno, please let me know if you find them! I am despairing of the shops at the moment, not helped by also needing to loose some weight so I don’t need to buy a size bigger than I’d like to be!
I bought a box load of stuff from a website recommended on here but it’s all going back and I managed to buy 2 half decent T-shirts from John Lewis but they’re a bit oversized.

Where are you shopping, OP? I see a lot of yellow, red and rust in the shops, and increasingly chartreuse green - none great colours for me personally, but definitely not neutrals!

To be honest, not looking properly really. Just walking by shop windows when out and about, and the clothes I see in the supermarket. Everything just looks bleh. I ended up ordering a load of stuff off Shein, but I need to delete the app once the stuff arrives. It's just too easy for me to click click buy

You’re unlikely to find anything worthwhile in most local High St shops. (Supermarkets seem less disappointing at the moment.)

For colour - a few sources:

& Other Stories

American Vintage

Damson Madder

Essential Antwerp

The Frankie Shop

I think you need to get in there and have a rummage, not just look in shop windows!😉
Dopamine dressing is still a big thing and you can find lots of colourful stuff in the supermarkets and places like H&M or Next.
Ive never been a neutrals fan and I think the shops are much less boring in terms of colour and pattern then previous years.

M& s have some nice bits in, was in today though and couldn't get a pair of jeans to fit i must of tried around 10 pairs on, I normally am a 10 but all too tight in the waist and the 12 too loose, so came home with nothing, I pick up my order from John lewis, the whistles fitted cotton jacket, as it was reduced i though I'd give a try, it fits lovely but really creased not sure if to return and get one off the rail that's been pressed.
