Dress recommendations for July wedding in Ireland

Hello, maybe someone with time on their hands could recommend some nice dresses for a July wedding (in Ireland) for me (as a wedding guest).

I'm 40, size 10-12, inverted triangle shape or maybe rectangle shape (I think, no good at this stuff). Long torso, paunchy belly (which I could blame on pregnancy, but in reality is due to too much food). The belly is the reason for the size 12, as I'm quite skinny otherwise. Anything that helped to mask the belly would be welcome. Small boobs. Pale with mousy blondish hair. Greens tend to suit. I tend to buy second hand (Vinted etc.), and budget could stretch to maybe €60 or so second hand, more for new, though I'd want to feel that I could wear it again on a night out for that price. Prefer natural fabrics, cotton, linen etc.

Thanks 🙂

I saw this on an influencer today and since I don't need it, will pass on the influencing

What about matching separates rather than a dress, so that you can mix & match afterwards?

That’s lovely.

This is pretty in a romantic sort of way. Viscose - which is semi-natural? And breathable.

WHAT A STANCE! Do they teach this one at modelling school 😂

What height are you, @CatCaretaker ?

Also, I keep seeing posters on MN insist that Irish weddings are incredibly dressy? I'm Irish (though live in Scotland) & all the ones I've been to are totally normal ...? Which will this one be ...?!!!

Yeah, my sis suggested this too but I feel that I don't pull off skirts well. That's probably not fully accurate but I've never felt very comfortable in them. Never know whether to tuck tops in or leave them out and just feel self-conscious about it the whole time!

Thanks everyone, some really fabulous options. Will look through them properly tomorrow. Really appreciate the suggestions ❤️

I was wondering about this too! That model is not wearing that dress to its full potential!

Dressy but not excessively so. All the dresses suggested so far would be fine I think. My friend doesn't take herself too seriously, will just be happy that everyone is there for her tbh.

Height, 5ft 6" I think! Haha I'm hopeless.

So slightly above average height. And an average Irish wedding, not one of these mad full-on satin & glam ones that people keep talking about!

This is really pretty if you like lace/broderie anglaise - but it's polyester again! Recycled, at least ...

These separates are the same range as the dress above, so are again recycled polyester. But very pretty & versatile afterwards as you can wear separately. Navy or green. Easy to dress up with gold or silver slingbacks & bag/jewellery etc.

This one, from the reviews, sounds as if it would be a good fit for your shape & height, OP - & the 10 should fit? Yes it's quite a boho maxi (linen/cotton), but if it's quite a relaxed wedding it could look great with strappy gold sandals & earrings etc?

Lola Blouson Maxi Dress-Rich Emerald, Ornate Tropics

For times when only a wow dress will do choose this floaty number. Volumous blouson sleeves are twinned with a deep V-neck made for a head-turning entrance.

On budget & rather pretty? Viscose though.

@EleanorMc67 you've gone above and beyond. Absolutely love that Boden tea dress, and many others. I'll let you know what I end up going with. Thank you!

Yes I thought it was really nice! Hope it suits - but stick a few on the credit card & order in one go (in case they sell out in your size). Then have a trying on afternoon with an honest friend!

Impossible to be looking for a green dress for an Irish wedding and not mention Kindred! (No idea how much they sell for pre-owned, though.) Surely this would be perfect?

I do think it's beautiful - but just a touch over budget! And, unsurprisingly, they don't turn up on Vinted/eBay etc much ...

Eye wateringly so! I also don't like it, sorry @Tocsin, but thanks for the suggestion, I do appreciate it. Hadn't heard of Kindred.
