Has anyone had brachioplasty/arm lift?

I’ve lost about 12 stone over 5 years and have some loose skin on my arms. I’ve worked really hard on my triceps at the gym but the loose skin is awful and no amount of exercise will fix it.
I had a consultation with a surgeon yesterday and am quite keen to go ahead, and would really appreciate hearing anyone’s experiences.

Sorry no advice but would love to know rough cost if you don’t mind sharing!

MichelleObamaArms · 16/05/2026 13:56

I’ve been quoted £8000

Im having a face lift this year and my arms done next year. Im going to Nords esthetics in Lithuania. Several people I know go there and the clinic is excellent. Its much cheaper than the UK. Lots of europeans go there.

I had brachioplasty 10 days ago. I lost eight stone and was really unhappy with the loose skin on my arms. It cost 8.5k with Spire.

The recovery has been ok and I’m happy with the results so far.

That’s good to hear @BasalGanglia- how are your pain levels?

Very well done on the weight loss.

I am very very conscious on my arms post weight loss. I have good muscles but the skin is really awful. I am just curious to know what is the recovery like? I exercise a lot and would struggle with too much restriction. How long until you can swing your arms or row?

BasalGanglia · 17/05/2026 08:57

The pain was more of a burning/stinging in the arm pit area as my incision goes from the elbow to the chest area. I had the surgery under general anaesthetic at 9am and was home by 7pm the same day.

i was prescribed Codeine as and when required but I never needed it, I just took paracetamol the first couple of days. The worst thing for me is the discomfort from the bandages/compression sleeves but it’s worth it.

They say you shouldn’t lift your arms above your head for 6 weeks but I can wash my hair ok now.

Not too sure about more strenuous exercises as I don’t go to the gym due to being disabled.

BasalGanglia · 17/05/2026 13:47

I should add that I had liposuction as well as the arm lift.

Are the scars bad after?

Robocopper · 17/05/2026 15:53

I had one a year ago. Overall, I’m pleased with it, my arms now look great when covered. There have been some negatives though.

I had some nerve damage/ irritation at first, which presented in my wrist. Pretty sore but for less than a week. I still get tingles of it but they’re fine. My scar spread in my armpit too, despite my being v careful. Apparently this happens fairly frequently. My surgeon revised the scar for free, under local anaesthetic.

My scars are noticeable to me but other people wouldn’t see them unless I move my arms up a lot, or twist them round. They will fade further too, and I might get a bit of laser work done to discolour them even more.

I'm pleased I got them done but it’s been a closer call on that than my previous skin removal surgeries.

Thank you @BasalGanglia and @Robocopperreally interesting to hear your experiences.

@Robocopper what went wrong with the scar in your armpit?
And what other skin removal have you had?

There is a blogger called 'diaryofabeauytygeek' who had this done at Nords aesthetics on Lithuania. She has documented her experience on YouTube. Might be worth a look alongside other research.

Thank you for this- her experience was v helpful.

Interesting that she had a breast lift done at the same time- I asked my surgeon about this and he said definitely not it was too much to do in one go.
