Are wide leg side stripe trousers still in fashion?

I had some of these from Mint Velvet & me+em about 5 years ago & i lived in them. They were quite different (at least to me) then m&s brought out a whole range and suddenly they were everywhere.

I have't looked at mint velvet in ages & had a quick look at their website earlier & saw they still stock them

Are you wearing them? I loved mine but got bored of them in the end

I don’t think so - there’s a ton of them in Next’s clearance section. If they can’t palm them off full price then surely they’re over.

I haven’t seen anyone wearing them for a couple of years but that might not mean anything. I think Saint and Sofia sell them in their “pant” collection.

I would say they have become a bit of a staple now as a leisure trouser.

Doggymummar · 14/05/2026 07:13

Not a fashion item, more a staple

My view of trends like this is "oh, interesting something vaguely 'new' Do I like it?"
If no, ignore
If yes, wear for as long as I want/garment wear out. Often picking up 2nd hand versions as people get rid of something they think is 'out'.

I would continue to wear them if I already had them but probably wouldn’t buy new right now.

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 14/05/2026 19:17

Yes! There are lots around and I have bought some in March that were new season.

Whattinger · 15/05/2026 09:50

I have 1 pair that are more like actual track suit pants. They're not made from jersey & they have poppers on the legs. Think they were mint velvet bought in around 2022.
I still sometimes throw them on going to the supermarket etc

But i am not tempted to buy more now

They sound like the ones used for sport so easy to get off without taking your trainers off.
