I’m currently on the lookout for a dress to wear to my dd’s graduation this summer, and I’d love to see pictures of what other people have worn for a bit of Inspiration.

Bumping for @Aweechai as I'd like to know this too - google does not seem to be helping me! Would love to see pics or links of what others have worn 💐

I wore this https://www.johnlewis.com/mint-velvet-geometric-print-maxi-dress-blue-multi/p112943284 to my DS graduation last year. I would say it was quite appropriate and I felt neither over or under dressed. There were a range of outfits worn, most women were wearing summer dresses but there were some trouser suits as well.

I’ve found these on the M&S web site. 3 are quite expensive but I think look a cut above average. Both my DDs graduated in a heatwave! I had a short sleeved floral silk column dress for one and a shirt dress style flared dress in a black/white floral print for the other. That was cooler! So I’d watch the weather forecast and have two options. I also think a trouser suit looks great. Summer colours are butter cream and pale blue.

Oh no. I didn't realise I have to dress for the graduation. I don't know what I was thinking. Glad I found this thread!

Anything goes from almost wedding guest attire minus a hat, smart or casual summer dress, trouser suit, skirt and top, top and skirt, jumpsuit etc etc. Just wear something that you like and that you feel comfortable in.

Main thing is comfy shoes as lots of walking and standing around. Also remember an umbrella, tissues, sunglasses, suncream and maybe even a foldaway tote bag to put in programmes and any souvenirs etc.

1,2, 3 and 5 would be ideal. Although they all look like they are made out of synthetic fabric so they could be very warm if its a hot day. Not keen at all on number 4.

Well I added the pink/blue one as I saw someone wearing it last weekend and it’s rather chic. I didn’t check the fabrics but cotton is about the only way to stay cool and not too crumpled. I’ve got another dress and 2 trouser suits that would be great too.

@Slimtoddy You don’t have to look like mother of the bride! The clothes I’ve posted are wearable all summer to bbqs, out for a meal or going racing! Investments really.

I wore red linen wide leg trousers and matching waistcoat for my son's graduation last year.
Some people were dressed smartly, others very casually, a real mix. Dress for your own comfort and style, have a brilliant day!
