OK, this is not strictly stylish, but it is clothing related. And is vital if I want to work next week....

dd came home from cms in cm's dd's cheerleader outfit on Tuesday. I can't find it ANYWHERE, and took some clothes to the recycling bin on Weds. Have this awful feeling I've somehow mixed up my bags and chucked it.

Cm's dd loaned it under duress & is getting twitchy. I NEED a replacement by next Tues when the dcs go back to cm.
But I can't find anything close enough.

So, your mission is: blue/yellow sparkly/sequinned skirt & (I think) a pink top with cap sleeves.

Go on, you know you want to

cant you ask the cm where she got it and just replace with the same thing?

paperdoll · 20/06/2008 20:09

Yes, better to ask her first - it's not like nobody will notice the switch, so you would have to explain anyway. May as well explain first and get the details right of what replacement to buy. Otherwise cm will probably feel obliged to say that whatever you have bought is fine, even if it isn't really the right thing.

Good luck!

funnypeculiar · 20/06/2008 20:10

No, no, have tried that. Cm didn't buy it, it was a gift. And she knows I am trying to replace (& I think, approves)

I am pretty sure Asda have some cheerleader outfits in at the moment - might be HSM !

I think I'd get any similar outfit and give it to her with the receipt in case it's not suitable.

Don't beat yourself up about it - everyone makes mistakes and you are doing your best to replace it !

Have you looked on ebay by the way ?

funnypeculiar · 20/06/2008 20:19

You're right scatterbrain, I am in full-on self flagellation mode

Ebay have a couple (& I've found others elsewhere) I just wondered if anyone knew the source of this particular version...

What age does it need to fit?

funnypeculiar · 20/06/2008 20:31

She's a very small 7, JackieNo. I think 5-6years would prob be about right (My 2 yo dd, also very petite, wasn't swomped in her costume)

I'm not finding anything similar, I'm afraid. Nearest I've found is this, or various places sell the High School Musical red one.

funnypeculiar · 20/06/2008 20:55

Thanks so much for trying JackieNo -that's been my closest too. From what i recall of your google skills, if you can't find it, it's a lost cause
I may just play it safe & go HSM - can't go wrong there, I suspect.

Or this?

snapD · 20/06/2008 21:03

Or this?

snapD · 20/06/2008 21:04

The last 2 are different btw

JackieNo · 20/06/2008 21:06

I saw that first one of SNapD's, but it's not available in the right sort of size. The other 2 are good, but will they ship from the US? Worth a try, though. I like the second, pink one.

snapD · 20/06/2008 21:08

too pink?

JackieNo · 20/06/2008 21:10

There's no such thing as too pink, surely?

snapD · 20/06/2008 21:10

more pink?

JackieNo · 20/06/2008 21:17

I've seen a few like this, but it's quite cute.

funnypeculiar · 20/06/2008 22:23

Honestly, you lot are blardy MARVELLOUS! Thanks so much, I was feeling really low about this, & now I have some real options. Thanks both of you
