Help me find a cool dress or jumpsuit for a party.

I need something for a party in a bar. I love Tallulah and Hope but have reservations about the skirt slit length and the leg width/length on their jumpsuit.

I'm a size 16 - 18 and 5'4", apple shaped but chunky all over. Don't I sound gorgeous?

I don't like showing arms or legs, I look best in a v neck or a buttoned up collar (high round necks aren't great for me).

I'm not looking for sequins, I don't think, but I'd like something that feels right for going out in the evening, rather than a day dress or day jumpsuit.

Colours, I'm a winter so black, jewel colours, grey, cobalt, that type of thing.

Is there objectively any reason why both your arms and legs must be fully covered? Because it’s summer; the sort of clothes that will look stylish at a summer party are not designed like that. And you’d probably be too hot. Surely you can show your forearms or calves?

Actually, @MsAlignment that's a good point, it's only upper arms I'd like to hide. My calves are soooo chunky, I don't necessarily need it to be ankle length, but below mid calf would be better,

I do like 100 Stars, but I've read lots of reviews that say they are poor quality, is that true?

Love Essentiel Antwerp as a concept, but I think the cuts would be a bit tent-like on me.

The Joules dress is much more summer afternoon bbq to my eye, maybe it's the jersey fabric. I have a few things like that already, I want to look like I'm going out out.

I think the quality is fine from one hundred stars but their stuff does crease easily

New Look have some nice animal prints.

I'm not keen on animal print but the shape of the zebra dress I like! I'll have a look at New Look.

I do think this particular print from One Hundred Stars has a similar vibe to Tallulah & Hope (a bit Deco/Florence Broadhurst). Worn with boots here, but would look great with black & cream/gold platforms or mules?

No idea of the quality but the sleeves are lovely & it's a good shape? Easily accessorised up too. A better green than the Joules one for your colouring, I think.

A bit over budget, black & grey leopard print (but very subtle!). A great shape & really versatile afterwards? You could wear fab big silver earrings & bangles with it.

Is this first T&H one out for you? It is cotton velvet, so perhaps too warm. But lovely.

Is the second one the one that you're concerned is slit too high? She is wearing the long version, so the regular length would be shorter on you. Plus, I think it's a fixed slit - the wrap is just up top - so it won't fly open. And you could sew it down a bit more if you felt it was too high?

I love Essentiel Antwerp - funnily enough they hardly ever get mentioned on S&B? I fell in love with a green skirt & dress last year that sold out everywhere in the sale. But they have something very similar - if not nicer, this time around!

The blue & green Kemi Telford is great. I think her skirts & dresses are surprisingly good for apple shapes (being pudgy of midriff myself ...). They squish you in gently but firmly, & create a waist without stifling your breathing!

What are your thoughts on pink ? I’m about to list this on Vinted. It’s from Arket and really easy to wear… you just throw it on but it’s quite a good weight so it drapes nicely.

If you like cobalt, this is a bargain. Depends on if you're a puff sleeve person or not, but they're what makes it dramatic enough along with the colour for evening, I think. They could probably be pulled down a little.
