Why do my bra bands ride up under my bust?

This is a bit hard to describe, but I find my bra bands get tucked up under my bust. It happens with multiple styles. I’m a 34DD or 36D, and have a short torso. Not particularly saggy boobs. What am I doing wrong with my fitting? I have measured and I am 32inch band size but couldn’t possibly get that on and do it up.

Try the 32 inch one with a larger cup size. E or something. Sister sizes - the space in the cup makes room for it to fasten. If you’re 32 inches around, then a bra that also measures 32 inches around will fit you.
The bands are moving around because they’re too loose.
Might need to try different styles to find one that works.

They 100% don’t fit. Even the 34 inch band has fat hanging over the sides / back and is uncomfortable when I sit down.

How did you measure yourself? I found the boob or bust was the best way for me. Sounds like the ones you're wearing are too loose if they are riding up. If you're measuring at 32 band then you probably need a slightly bigger cup size. What size clothes do you wear because it's amazing how many women wear bra sizes that are for much bigger sized women

I’d really recommend going to get fitted. I was really reluctant for ages but I’ve been so much more comfortable since I’ve started going.

Boob or bust is known to go tight on the band. If you're measuring yourself it's hard to know if you're actually measuring yourself correctly or too tight. I read on one bra site that most people need to go up a band size and down a cup, ie a sister size up.

I’m size 12 (only short, so am overweight) and I do struggle as I’ve put on weight recently and am trying to lose it, so don’t want to buy loads of new bras. I probably need to go into a shop and try on some with larger cup sizes. I’m just grumpy because (a) I find bras so uncomfortable and (b) I’m so annnoyed about putting on weight.

Hopefully that will be a better for for you. Seems strange as I'm a size 6 and I wear a 30 band or a 32 if it's just too tight. I'd have thought at a size 12 a 34 would have been more usual. Well hopefully the boob or bust was right for you and you mange to find a decent bra. Totally get bras not feeling comfortable. That's why I only wear ones with no wire now. Though I'm only a D cup so very different to an F😅

I was a B cup for years. I miss it 😔

I did have a bit of a lightbulb moment this morning and realised I was wearing my bra on the loosest setting! Have used the tighter one today to see if that helps.

You're wearing ill fitting bras.

ConverselyAttired · Yesterday 13:28

I'm 5ft3, size 12 and I'm a 32FF which sounds massive but isn't. The bigger cup size should do it.

I’m a size 10 or 12 but wear a size 28G bra, so it doesn’t seem odd to me …

suki1964 · Yesterday 13:37

Im 5ft 2, size 12 tops, bit of middle aged spread , but I went from a 36b to a 32 dd/ E after loosing weight to get to a healthy BMI

I wear a full cup and Ive found that smaller band with bigger cups, have higher bands so you dont get that over hang under the arms . Lot more cup space to tuck everything away :) It was actually getting measured that got me into size 12, cos my boobs are now in the right place clothes fit better

It's not odd. The general guide is to take your clothing size and add 20. Which is why people always tell people who say they're a 36B and size 10 that they're in the wrong size!

HappyAsASandboy · Yesterday 17:15

I would guess the band is moving because it is too loose or too tight.

To get the correct bad size, try the bra on backwards (no straps!) and get a comfortable but snug fit. Only once you know your band size start trying different cup sizes.

The only way to get the right back size (in my opinion!) is to take the boobs out of the equation and just fit the band to tour torso. Boob size comes second!
