Which colour jeans are ‘in fashion’?

I’m closer to 50 than I would like and going out this weekend. I’ve bought some wide leg high waisted jeans from M&S but got the light blue. A friend said the lighter is better and more in style at the moment. The darker blue looked not quite right somehow but I feel so odd wearing the light blue. Reminded me of the white wash jeans in the 80s.

so are lighter jeans in fashion?

You will be fine, 12-14 is good

I bought a pair of those m and s jeans too OP. However I got them in indigo as recently got a pair of light blue flared jeans. I felt like I’d seen quite a few people in darker wide leg jeans too. However my waist and hips are not well proportioned (hips too narrow / waist too large) so had to return them as too right. It’s a shame all the wide leg jeans seem to be high waisted as I can’t get high waisted jeans to fit me. I’m on the hunt for an elasticated waist now.

@pinkyponkyplinkI think if you are tall enough they absolutely hide a tum. I like my slightly swishy pair from M&S and they are a mid denim. They are not stiff and heavy and are great for summer. London is full of tourists and not really a fashion parade! You would need to be in certain smart streets to get a more local London vibe! Both my DDs are wearing wider and lighter now. Early 30s and size 6 and 10 but the right jeans in a lighter wash are great for summer especially as pale butter yellow and creams are everywhere.

Amal Clooney seen recently at the airport with very pale blue high waisted jeans. Washed out looking. So we can all take it that is the thing right now. Teamed with dark blazer with shiny metal decorative looking buttons over a black tee.

To be fair Amal clooney changes her jeans style a lot.
