Foundation to replace my lifelong favourite, Double Wear?!

Hi all. I’ve heard that Estée Lauder have changed the formula of this foundation; it is now more buildable and sheer. I am no longer interested. I liked DW for its full coverage and longevity. I feel I have nothing to lose by giving something else a try.
Here are my requirements:
good for mature skin (50). I know DW got flack for settling into fine lines, but I never found this to be an issue.
Good coverage - I have a pinky skin tone and like this to be covered. Not full-on rosacea, but definitely a bit of redness.
Last all day.

Thank you very much 😊

I've had the same dilemma and would suggest firstly it might be worth looking on eBay for the old DW, I've stocked up so should be ok for the next year!

Thanks, but I’d be a bit wary of fakes!

I was advised to try MAC studio fix and it is AWFUL so don't waste your money there :(

Bourjois healthy mix foundation is basically a dupe :)

I wore double wear for years but my shade wasn't in stock, so on a whim ordered the ordinary foundation on tik tok shop !! It's dirt cheap and I am delighted with it and am on my 2nd bottle.

I bought some foundation from Aldi last year. I always wear DW but wanted a darker shade for with a tan on holiday. It was exactly the same as DW…but about £3.99. Unfortunately it’s not something they stock all the time but it was in spring/summer I got it last time so I check the middle aisle every week, hoping it’s in. I’ll be stocking up when it arrives 🤞

i was mixing my original Doublewear with a primer as it was getting a bit cakey for my older skin. I tried a sample of the new Doublewear and I liked it ! I needed to go up a shade but the new formula is good for me.

I'm a long time wearer and I've recently bought the new formula. In all honesty I haven't noticed any difference. I double checked the shade at the EL counter and my usual was still the best match. They will give you a free 10 day sample so try that before switching to something totally new

Brilliant, thanks everyone 💕

I've switched to Revlon Colourstay and prefer it.

I have been trying to find an alternative and have had various samples:
Charlotte Tilbury - quite like, some breakdown by the end of the day. Very full coverage.
Mac (the matte one) - didn't like at all, despite it looking amazing on my colleague
Fenty - have sample but not tried yet
New DW - I quite like it, not committed yet though! It stays well, I found it settled in my pores a little. Am trying with different base combos. I like the finish, and better to blend and use cream brozer etc on top. My shade is too dark now in the new one though.
No7 (a matte one) lovely finish, not quite got the staying power of DW though!

Higgly recommend getting a load of samples!
