Tear Trough, Polynucleotides, Sunekos?

Have you found anything that works for hollows and dark circles? Surgery is not an option but happy to invest in aesthetics if it works
I’ve got so many concealers that work for an hour or two but always wear off.
I’m fed up looking tired at all the time.
Late 50s, ok skin for my age.

Lots of people will say filler however I wouldn't. I see alot of filler accidents where it slowly migrates in little bits down your cheek.
Think about the salmon sperm microneedling instead.
Also I think the infra red shark does is supposed to be fab.
Presume you are doing the usual hyaluronic acid, high strength vit c peptides and retinol. Plus / minus some of the acids ( can't remember what they are as my skin is too sensitive but I'm sure someone else can recommend).

Thanks @Nodwyddaedafedd I’m reliable with my skin care.
I will investigate micro needling with polynucleotides.
looking at reviews it seems that tear trough is too risky

A nudge for fellow dark circled readers

Sorry OP. I have deep set eyes and dark circles and I use under eye concealer. I won’t do anything around that area because I’ve heard it’s hit-or-miss and it’s just not an area I’m willing to take a chance with. I also have hooded eyes. Have you tried Beauty Pie concealer? How are your eyebrows? I got mine micro bladed in a very natural way and I love it.

I am early 50’s and have had filler in the tear trough area, it was ok.
A few year later and I have had polynucleotides, 3 sessions, 3 weeks apart and that did make a difference. The under eye is not so hollowed and is smoother. I would go and have polynucleotides again, I had the brand Plinest.

PastryFiend · 28/04/2026 16:36

Thanks both
I have tried and do use corrector and concealer, many brands, but as I’ve got older it’s not enough.
Interesting about polynucleotides, a nurse friend who has done aesthetics thinks it might help. Glad you’ve had a result @Isabelle70 , I’m happy to spend provided I get an improvement. Did you get bruising or swelling?

@PastryFiend I did get bruising and swelling, the first time was the worst. Looked like I had a black eye, as one side had more bruising than the other. I had it Saturday morning, then the bank holiday and back in the office on Tuesday. I am always doing diy so acted as if I had caught my face if anyone looked, and also wore my glasses rather than contacts.
The 2nd and 3rd time I iced it more, didn’t realise than I could do it every couple of hours and that made a huge difference.
My day to day Dr does aesthetic treatments so I have had all my treatments with him.

Filler is for under eye hollows not dark circles.

You can get lots of very good make up.
Look at Bobbi Brown Corrector. You use it and then put concealer over the top.

Polynucleotides! Love mine it’s so subtle. I’ve had sunekos and ouch!!!!!! Prefer the results from polynucleotides

DamnAFloppyLettuce · 28/04/2026 19:21

Polyns wont get rid of dark circles. They are caused by thin skin and it's your veins showing through. Everyone in my family- 3 generations have them and DD's dermo says they are hereditary and just need covering up.

DamnAFloppyLettuce · 28/04/2026 19:23

Fillers work for hollows.
You need a doctor / dentist as it's high risk and if they go too high you can end up blind. You will only get about 50% improvement. I have a friend who had it done by one of the best cosmetic drs in UK.
