Natural-looking false eyelash recommendations for everyday wear in your late forties

I want to start wearing fake eye lashes but I don’t really know where to start and thought I’d ask for any recommendations.

I want ones that are natural looking and just enhance my natural lashes. Easy to apply and maybe that can be left on for a few days at a time but that’s not essential.

I’m in my late 40s and wear make up every day, but generally keep it looking natural.

Does anyone wear eye lashes regularly and have a particular brand they would recommend?

I swear by the Eyelure Brand and I use for every day the 2/3rds length lashes. No. 008.

They not a dramatic look and perfect for every day and there’s another that are even thinner.

Really helps me look better with my hooded eyes and more ‘awake’. I’ve been a fan for about 5 years -
no issues with the glue either.

You do have to take them off at the end of the day as when you sleep in them they get misshapen see also taking them off for a shower. However each pair you can wear about 5/6 times. I get mine on a subscription service from Amazon.

Get a lash lift instead - much nicer & more natural looking! I pay ~£40 every 8 weeks

@IfyouStealMySunshine can I ask do you find they take off your own lashes when removed? Do you just pull them off? Do you apply eye liner after? Do you add mascara?

Watching with interest. Even the 2/3rds feel too long for me - I just want to look like I've got the eyelashes from my twenties rather than my menopausal stubs.

I use Lola's lashes, they last me 7 days and are pre glued so no faffing. Once you get the hang of applying them (under your lashes rather than on top) they are brilliant and come in various lengths, you might want the 10mm ones.

To add, they don't damage my lashes and a only need a bit of baby oil to slide them off.

@HeadingforaHundredthey barely ever take away my natural lashes when removing as I think because I put mascara on them they are ‘sturdier’?

Ive had a lash lift and tint but it didn’t work for me always had stumpy lashes and with hooded eyes they just disappear.

I do a think above lash line of maybelline waterproof liner to hide the seam of the lashes then one coat of whatever waterproof mascara I buy (currently Estée Lauder). Then apply the lashes next.
Again due to the hooded eyes because my eyelids sort of sit on my lashes I have to use waterproof eye products it’s been the only way to stop the product transferring.

⭐️ @IfyouStealMySunshine thank you for the info! I might take the plunge. I got some of the magnetic ones to save my natural eye lashes and when I took them off they pulled out loads!

countrybump · 24/04/2026 21:32

Thank you for all the suggestions. I’ve ordered some from Lola’s Lashes and will
see how I get on with them.
