Bingo wings! How long till they disappear??

I started eating well and lifting weights in January. I go to the gym 3-4 times per week and I use the weight machines (seemed an easy way to start). I’m now starting to see some definition in some parts of my arms which is great and keeps me motivated but despite all the machines that claim to work the triceps the back of my arms are still pretty flabby.

i look around the gym and the others are all so toned and slim. I feel like my shoulders look big and round in comparison.

How long does it take, roughly, to see a real difference?

It might take 6-12 months to start to see good gains but that’s if you’re lifting heavy and progressively overloading. More importantly if your diet is shit hot and protein needs are met. You
You can’t spot reduce fat. Ever. All you can do is build your muscles (which takes time!) to take up space on your frame.
Please keep building muscle as the more you have the healthier you’ll be over the long term.

I think the best results are with free weights. So grab a dumbbell and start doing reps! :-) But seriously, ask a trainer at the gym to help you with the proper exercises and how to progress with weight and reps.

It has to be the combination of fat loss and muscle building. I am size 8, was skinny fat, and still my bingo were flapping and the last thing to improve. I would recommend making sure that weights are heavy enough, and you can do a lot more without the machines, skull crushes, overhead presses and dips off the bench. Second, if you have time, add whatever time you can spare for incline walking 12-15% incline and speed over 4 km. I run a few times a week but it’s the incline walking that seems to have helped with fat loss. And lastly, see if the house needs decorating. My right arm is way more toned as I have been on a fence painting mission.

It takes time, I didn’t have bingo wings as such, as my arms lost fat as I worked out throughout my weight loss journey and ate enough protein, but when I leaned forward the skin would fall forward and be crepy. Standing with them at my sides etc they looked muscular and toned,

and as you correctly identified it was my lack of triceps. I’d say the issue is close to resolving but still there to an extent, and it’s been about a year, it’s prob 80 percent gone. I’m happy to wear sleeveless tops, and no where near as self concious as I was.
