Shorts to go under smock type dress

Thoughts please! I have a couple of dresses like in the photo that I want to take on holiday. As I'm tall, mine sit a bit shorter - ok standing up, but the slightest bend (or gust of wind) and bum on show.
I tried denim shorts underneath but thought they looked a bit weird.
Would some cycling shorts look okay, even sitting at the same length or just shorter than the dress?
Any other recommendations welcome!

Snag chub rub shorts, sound awful and I don’t like their marketing but they are perfect for this.

M&S chub rub shorts also good. They come in all sizes and look like small cycling shorts, but more comfortable.

I wear snag ones because my legs are wrinkly from weight loss and I dont want to show them when the wind blows. They are great.
Cycling shorts often have a padded bottom so I dont like those.

Boody shorts are also fab, really comfortable. I always wear shorts under any dress in the summer.

I wear Oddballs or Step One bamboo shorts pants. They are long in the leg like chub rub shorts

Thanks all! I have some snag chub rubs but in beige - didn't even think of them - will order a black pair!

If it's likely to be on show, then I would opt for actual shorts that are meant to be worn as outerwear. You can get thin floaty cotton shorts.
