Why is Vinted sizing still messed up it's been months

Bloody hell- Vinted still wasn't sorted it's sizing out. I stopped using it a few months ago as it was impossible to find things- just been on and it's still terrible. How have they not sorted this out?
Searching for L 14/16 Hobbs dresses but photos of labels are 12. Xl search18/20 has dresses with photos of size 14.
I'm shocked it's gone on this long. What a mess!

I've not used it since they changed it into 2 sizes together e.g. 8/10 12/14, I'd have to wade through them both.

NotTheFreudYoureLookingFor · 16/04/2026 18:07

Is it possible that it suits vinted, because people buy stuff that doesn't fit, and then resell on vinted?

Hillytentty · 16/04/2026 18:07

You'd need more as lots of size 14 are still in xl 16/18!!

I have gone right off vinted and used to be a regular buyer.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 16/04/2026 18:09

its a catch 22. I have old listings with the old sizing, but if you delete your listing and repost it, they delete your account as it’s against the rules.

highlandponymummy · 16/04/2026 18:46

I no longer buy clothes from Vinted because of the ridiculous and confusing sizing.

You don’t need to delete and re-list, you just edit the listing and update the size category. Plus add any other info in the title and description to clarify the actual size.

itsnothingoriginal · 16/04/2026 19:47

I've got used to it now but it is annoying. Have to go into all the listings to check size 🙄
My items seem to have lots more views compared to when the sizes were listed previously probably cos everyone is having to do the same.

Haven't noticed many items from US sellers being listed though which I thought was the whole reason for changing the sizing?

SilenceInside · 16/04/2026 19:53

Vinted are never going to sort out the listings that are still wrong. They are very clear it’s on the seller to update them. They are also not going to go back to single size categories due to merging their databases and wanting a common size system.

I don’t see any items from the US as I set my personalisation preferences to the brands that I prefer, none of which are US brands. So my search results will prioritise those brands over any similar US items that otherwise match the criteria I’m searching for.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 16/04/2026 21:36

User's haven't updated their listings so anything new is ok ish but ancient stuff is odd.

I now sort by newest first and it's tolerable. But there's still stuff in the wrong place as it's a user issue putting a size 8 in the 12-14 section 😬😬😬😬

EdinaTheConfessor · 16/04/2026 21:40

It pisses me off that people don’t post the actual size or a picture of the label, especially if they are posting it recently since the change.
8/10 isn’t good enough, is it an 8 or a 10 for the love of god!!

Why would you need to delete the listing though? Can’t you just change the size.

asdbaybeeee · 16/04/2026 21:53

Yes it’s awful I wear a 14 but have to wade through 10’s 12’s, 16’s and 18’s because no one understands the sizing

ScullyD · 16/04/2026 21:54

It’s a massive pain. Everyone has to clarify the size in the title now and if not, you have to go asking and digging. Vinted totally messed up.

Ibwah · 22/04/2026 22:22

I thought it was just me! It’s a pain.

Chocolateteabag · 22/04/2026 23:29

why are there so many listings with no mention of the size and no picture of the size label? If I can be bothered, I’ll ask the seller to clarify but nine times out of 10 they don’t reply
Don’t people want to sell their stuff?

EgregiouslyOverdressed · 23/04/2026 06:55

It only affects old listings from before the change. It’s the seller’s responsibility to edit the listing.

Ibwah · 23/04/2026 07:19

So have they changed it back to single sizing or still grouping the sizes?

SilenceInside · 23/04/2026 07:38

No it’s not changed back to single sizes, it’s still the two-size band.

GloiredeDijon · 23/04/2026 07:54

It affects new listings too because the categories now span two sizes.

When I want to look for a size 14 I can’t do so anymore. I have to wade through both 14s and 16s.

It is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen from a business.

Has anybody actually sold anything to the US??? This being the reasoning behind the change.

Onelittledog · 23/04/2026 08:05

I sell and buy on Vinted. My listings always have the size on the title to make it easier for buyers. I was looking for a dress yesterday and found a possible one. It was £50 so not cheap for Vinted. The issue was that there was no exact size listed, no measurements and only one photograph. I come across lots of listings like that, I wouldn't entertain them. It's just lazy.
The sizing categories are rubbish but detailed listings with all the information you need can negate that to a degree

I had a message from someone in the US about a football shirt I was selling. Wanted photos of all sorts (it's a bog standard £10 listing for a Liverpool shirt from a previous season which already had photos of the labels and Nike printing on the neck). He had 3 stars out of 5 so I blocked him. I don't want to ship there. It will take ages and they'll blame me for customs charges.

Exactly. Far too complicated and ripe for scammers.

Alltheyellowbirds · 23/04/2026 14:42

It’s not messed up, it’s just some people haven’t bothered updating the sizing on their old listings. If you want to avoid them sort by most recent and ignore the older posts.

I’m so glad they changed it so the categories are actually correct to the sizes we buy in shops. It was a nightmare before!

competentadult · 23/04/2026 14:48

Dresses are really irritating because the categories have so much overlap.
