Cleansing balm recommendations for stubborn eyeliner that are gentle on eyes

My new Laura Geller eyeliner won’t come off with micellar water. Sali hughes revolution cleansing balm lifted it easily but this has been discontinued. Can anyone recommend a cleansing balm that will work but not irritate my eyes? I’ve tried Cerave and Simple but both left my eyes sore and streaming.

Use Nivea waterproof makeup remover.

The inkey list oat cleanser is lovely and gentle

Clinique balm is really good, very gentle and takes everything off

I swear by La Roche-Posay’s micellaire water. It’s very gentle, even on eyes and doesn’t make my skin react at all.

Clinique balm or the body shop camomile balm is similar.

I agree with the recommendations for Clinique. It's the Take The Day Off Balm and it removes anything and everything but it's still pleasant to use.

Softymo (Japanese brand) cleansing oil is the absolute best. Instantly gets any makeup off. Unscented lightweight oil that you just rub gently over your face including eyes, add water to and rinse off clean instantly. Cleansing balms (Ive tried them all) aren't a patch on this and it's much cheaper and on Amazon.

I use aqueous cream and a warm flannel as a facial cleanser and find it deals well with all eye makeup.

Another vote for inkey list, I couldn’t get on with the Clinique balm but the liquid version was good… but still prefer inkey list for my skin and it’s cheaper

Body shop camomile cleanser - rub a little in your fingers to melt it first and then rub it over your eyes and remove with a Johnson’s make up wipe. Sounds strange but the combination of the two works wonders.

The Ordinary Squalane cleanser, I wear waterproof eyeliner and mascara every day and this gets rid of it so easily, incredibly gentle, you only need a tiny bit so it lasts for ages!

Hi OP. Look for an oil-rich cleansing balm. Ingredients like mineral oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, or isopropyl palmitate in the formula are great at breaking down stubborn & waterproof makeup. The soreness you experienced is most likely from fragrance/harsh surfactants, so fragrance-free is a must! Check the label for mild emulsifiers & avoid anything with alcohol or essential oils near the eye area. Hope this helps!

Body shop chamomile stuff is brilliant.
