where to buy holiday clothes

weegielass · 08/04/2026 21:16

where can I buy cheap tops and dresses for my ibiza holiday that don't actually look cheap but look quality? I'm 45 and size 16. I don't want Shein type.

I normally buy clothes from Seasalt, Roman, M&S, sugarhill brighton but trying to save a bit, only have around £100 to buy some basics.

Had a look at TU already but didn't like much on there.

Thanks

ParisFrance · 08/04/2026 21:23

Primark if you can visit a store and be selective! Or F&F in Tesco have some decent items too. Enjoy your hol 😊

Silverbirchleaf · 08/04/2026 21:28

New look have a good range of clothes , and if you register with them, they always sending 25% discount codes.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 08/04/2026 21:28

Vinted and filter for the brands you know you normally like and buy from?

1fluffydoodle · 08/04/2026 21:33

Vinted is great for holiday shopping

liquoriceallsortfamily · 08/04/2026 22:15

Matalan

shuffleofftobuffalo · 09/04/2026 05:46

Primark if you can get to a store - they had some nice things this week but you have to be selective.

SanctiMoaniArse · 09/04/2026 05:50

Start by having a proper look at what you own already. Unless you've never been on holiday before then you will own at least some clothing that will be suitable. Most people have way too many clothes and don't need to buy a new wardrobe for every holiday!

Then, make a list of exactly what you need. Search Vinted first and see how much you get get preloved.

(I am actually listening as I type to a programme on BBC Sounds about the fast fashion industry and how to reduce the clothing waste we create!)

DeftGoldHedgehog · 09/04/2026 05:51

M&S, Next & TU for me. Also Joe Browns have some nice stuff.

mumonthehill · 09/04/2026 05:51

H and M can have summer dresses etc and their t shirts are ok. Have a look at Asda as sometimes they have some good clothes.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 09/04/2026 05:53

I really can't be arsed with Vinted. Not when I need several items for a holiday, certainly.

minnowonthesay · 09/04/2026 06:11

If You like Sugarhill, do you like Manamou or Style Attic?
These shorts, stripey trousers, jumpsuit and dress would be less than £100, all mostly cotton, then maybe get some vest tops from Primark? A cream, light khaki or denim jacket from Vinted? This Zara one is £7. I think that’s would give you 6 new outfits for just over £100.

Tesco usually have a great range of holiday clothes! Matching swim wear & cover ups etc.

Vinted/Ebay?
George at asda
Matalan
Nutmeg at Morrisons

EvelynBeatrice · 09/04/2026 08:42

H&M often have pure cotton tshirts, dresses etc. Their premium range sometimes has good basics too.

Was just going to post the same!

I'd start looking at Vinted now. Adjust your settings to your size and the brands you want to see. Ive had some amazing buys from Vinted but its been a slow build up rather than going out and buying a whole summer wardrobe. For budget holiday wear Matalan can have surprisingly nice pieces. H&M also brilliant for cheap basics and print dresses. Also check Next and the supermarket sections, George, Tu etc.

Silverbirchleaf · 09/04/2026 08:54

Next has a clearance tab on top right of website. You can pick up some nice bits there, and not just Next brands.

M and S have some reasonably priced basics nowadays. Join the Sparks card for extra discounts.

Ive never heard of manamou before, love the striped pants

PomegranateVase · 10/04/2026 05:47
