Is there a fake tan that doesn't make you smell like a bottom about 8 hours after applying it?

I'm at work and I feel a bit like a compost heap after applying it last night.

Hee hee

The Nivea gradual + firming one is OK now, very sickly artificial fruit/sugar smell initially though and quite subtle results.

They all make me smell like a sweaty sock. Is that better or worse?

Tinkerisdead · 19/06/2008 12:30

I use the clarins one and it does smell a bit biscuity but not massively offensive. which one did you use?

PuppyMonkey · 19/06/2008 12:31

They all smell like this to me!

mato · 19/06/2008 12:42

I've used them all (or several) and they all smell nice when I put them on and then as it develops a very particular pong starts eminating from my legs. This is disconcerting when I wake up and move the duvet and get a dutch oven face full of fake tan nastyness. Its my skin reacting, not the initial perfume of the product...

I haven't tried the clarins one....

I'd recommend a good squirt of cocoa butter in with the fake tan, helps to stop streaking and does mask the odour somewhat!

2Happy · 19/06/2008 14:48

Oh! I thought I was the only one who found this (everyone else I've mentioned it to has never noticed ). I've used the Dove one, smells of lovely ripe melons at first, but by the end of the day smells of rotton melons if anything. So I tried putting it on at night, but apparently it's not as effective that way (rubs off on sheets or something).
