Do you ‘rest’ your bras between wears to prolong their life?

Apparently wearing the same bra on consecutive days stretches it out more than if you let it rest for a day. Sounds a bit of a faff but my bras are expensive and tend to start straining within a month or two.

I wear mine for a day or two and then put them in the freezer to reshape so they don't get stretched.

I use them as I like. And buy a new one if needed.

Never heard of this before. However, I’m not blessed in that department, so stretching bras may not affect me,

Indianajet · 05/04/2026 19:29

I have never heard of putting your bra in the freezer - is this really a thing?!

PeonyBulb · 05/04/2026 19:29

I’m a DD and have never had an issue with stretching

henlake7 · 05/04/2026 19:29

Never really heard of this. I wash mine after every wear but I bought ten so I don't have to wash them too often.

Dearg · 05/04/2026 19:33

I think it’s the machine washing that ages them, rather than wearing them. Never thought of resting them; just try to match the bra with the outfit.

I purchase alabaster moulds to ensure my m&s Rosie Huntington Whiteley masterpieces retain their perfect outlines

Also what

Manicmondayss · 05/04/2026 19:40

What a waste of effort

Same here. My bras last for years. Being not blessed means that I don't get underboob sweat either.
