Curly hair much straighter the longer it gets

My hair wavy / curly but the longer o leave it the more the top is flat / not curly.
Will the fact that it’s increasingly becoming grey the issue? It’s due to be highlighted again soon - wonder if this will help? I’m sad as my hair is lovely when curly but the roots appear to be straightening off.
any advice please?

The longer your hair gets, the heavier it becomes dragging the hair down. My hair is the same, and as I prefer it straight I keep it longer so it is easier to manage. That said, grey/white hair is a different texture.

It also needs moisture to bounce.
After my second lot of highlights I lost my natural curl to dry frizz. My grey friends have regained curl so I am hopeful that I allow my hair to grow in grey it will play ball.

More layers on top will help. It’s the weight of the length pulling out the curls.

Drying with a diffuser might help - it takes the weight off so the curls bounce up as you dry
