Little bouquets of hairs!

Does anyone else get these little 'bouquets' of hairs occasionally from their midriff area? Theyre the tiny hairs that grow there, but some of them seem to collect multiple hairs, especially in areas where waistbands might sit. I told my mum and she seemed horrified! I didn't have a picture to show her though, and she is prone to hyperbole so she mightve been imagining big long plaits of hairs.

In the pic (when it loads) you can see my pinky finger alongside the collection of hairs just for size comparison

I can safely say that I have never ever seen or heard of this before! 😂

HaileyBailey · 28/03/2026 00:07

Er … no

Finchleee · 28/03/2026 00:25

Yes! I used to get them. Is at an age thing?

CBA2RTFT · 28/03/2026 08:33

I don't understand though... are they fibres from clothing, or hairs that have come from you?

Either way seems baffling!

Dartania · 28/03/2026 08:35

Nope.

I used to get one really long and fine, colourless hair on my belly though.

Theyre the very fine short hairs we all have over our body, but sometimes I find little groups of them growing out of the same pore/follicle.

@Finchleee it could well be a hormonal thing, I hadn't thought of that!

I get loads of them week before my period from tummy and boob's 🤷‍♀️

Squiffy01 · 29/03/2026 19:36

Oh yes me!! Sometimes I think I’m trying to grow feathers 😂

EmbroideredGardener · 30/03/2026 20:00

Thank you to the 3 of you who have made me feel a little less hideous!!

I think it’s called ‘pili multigemini’ - have a google and see if that fits the bill!

Blingismything · 30/03/2026 21:03

Yes I have had this, in between my breasts though.

Apologies if I made you feel hideous! Had never come across this before, that’s all!

same! And before each pregnancy had masses of them on my breasts!

Hawkmoth · 31/03/2026 22:05

I have them in all my stretch marks. I have thought about one day counting how many hairs there are in a good one, but I've never quite managed to.

momager22 · 31/03/2026 22:08

No but sometimes I find a big wad of
head hair that’s shed and all ended up
knotted stuck in my arse crack. It
feels amazing pulling it out in the shower.

EmbroideredGardener · 31/03/2026 22:23

@Valkirie yes that does seem to be it, but I have loads of hairs in each one! I'm glad its benign so I can enjoy plucking them!

@CBA2RTFT hideous was the wrong word, more abnormal, but I knew that was a possibility of posting. Thank you for being sweet enough to apologise though!

Sorry, no, I've never seen anything like that! DH has FAR more hair than me, but I'm assuming you are a woman? I agree that we all have body hair, but over my boobs/stomach/midriff I can't actually feel any/see anything if I tried pulling at my skin. 🤔

Are you peri/menopausal? Did they only start since then? It might be a hormonal change?

Brilliant, I should've known they'd have a medical-sounding name.

As they appear under your waistband, OP, it could be that continued friction has injured the follicles. I don't think they'll go back to producing singlets, so enjoy plucking your feathers!

Finchleee · 02/04/2026 15:18

@EmbroideredGardener I think your name for them is better than any medical terminology. I used to love plucking them. I think I have seen them mentioned on her before so we are definitely not alone with our bouquets. Any negativity may be jealousy. Who wouldn’t want a bouquet of hairs!
