You were all really helpful when i was asking about home-made Fresh-Exx using witch hazel.

I am now back wondering if anyone has a good recipe for a facial cleanser using witch hazel? (I have found a few online, but i prefer a personal recommendation if possible)

A very, very long time ago when I was a teenager with terrible skin (1980s), a consultant dermatologist told me that the best cleanser and toner was baby lotion and witch hazel. I’ve had good skin for a long time now!

I used to use Witch Hazel on its own when I was a teenager.

i remember as a teenager that we mixed it with Fuller's earth to make face packs, and occasionally used it neat on spots. It seems quite strong for that now, and my skin is a lot more dry than back then.

I'll try it mixed with a bit of almond oil instead of @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads (love the name) suggestion of baby lotion.

I still do daily.
plus castor oil for eyebrow growth and my skin is extremely good.
The rest of me not so much !

so basically i barely wear any make-up so the only cleansing i have to do is eyelashes. I'll give it a go.

I should have also said, I had skin you could fry chips on when I was a teenager! I wouldn't use it neat now, but toned down with something might work well. It certainly got the dirt off like nothing else I knew

I make a toner with 50% Witch Hazel and 50% Rose water (found in the baking aisle of the supermarket).
Works really well and quite gentle.

I use rose water and a drop or two of tea tree oil on a cotton pad.

Thank you

I didn’t explain very well - I meant baby lotion as a cleanser and witch hazel as a toner. I did that for years and years.
