Goodwood Members Meeting

Has anyone been to the Goodwood Members meeting in April? I’ve been invited by a Wealth Manager; they have a hospitality area. This is the info on dress code…

As with any exclusive club, the Members Meeting is intended to be stylish and relaxed, an informal yet smart event, with everyone asked to respect our style guide. It is a great excuse for both ladies and gentlemen to wear their smartest countryside attire, and when the weather can make up its mind, a wax jacket with tweed accessories wouldn't go amiss, not forgetting an umbrella.
Please remember that the weather is likely to be chilly in the evenings, so we recommend bringing layers. Coats may be stored in the Cloakroom, available at the event. Parking is on grass so suitable footwear is recommended, including wellingtons when wet.

I have a wax jacket but nothing else ‘posh country’ - any ideas for how to style an outfit where the parts could be reworn in a slightly less ‘posh country’ way?

A "crisp white shirt" with silk scarf and smart trousers?

I go to the races a lot. Current trend is white skinnies with tan or brown knee high boots, bonus points if they are Penelope Chilvers with the tassel. Blouse and a tweed blazer. Personally, I can't pull that off so I go for dresses with boots and a jersey blazer, wax jacket over the top and a drapey scarf. Fedora. Gloves.
Dresses mean I can wear thick woolly tights and a slip, and often under layers on top too which keep me warm. Waistcoat or a smart gilet maybe if I think it's going to be really cold.
I'm currently saving up for a long tailored tweed coat.
You'll need the jacket, scarf and hat when you go outside, unless you are blessed with amazing weather. Courses are open so can be windier and therefore colder. Inside you should be fairly warm in the hospitality area depending on what they've got, if it's a marquee I wouldn't bank on being toasty.
I'm surprised they've said wellies, I don't remember Goodwood being at all muddy, through the parking is on grass.

Thanks for the post if only because it made me realise I haven’t thought about what I’m wearing at all!
My first Goodwood was Revival last year and as it rained a lot it was definitely muddy in a lot of areas.
First thoughts are tweed jacket, jeans, wellies. Liking the white shirt silk scarf idea, might try to find something more practical/comfortable with the scarf though as an hour in to wearing a white shirt I rarely look my best.
