Would you buy a dress that has a matching children’s version?

I have seen a dress I really like, but I’m put off by the fact it has a matching version for a child. For context I’m 54 and have no children. I feel this won’t go well for me.

I can see myself wearing this dress on holiday, on a Greek Island, wafting serenely around, possibly barefoot, with not a care in the world.

But then I had a thought. What if I bump into a family where a child is wearing the matching version? Would that be really weird?

When i started to read it thought it was going to be the Popsy one which are definitely not my taste.
Generally speaking no I wouldn't buy a dress that also had children's sizes.
That said, there's been a few times when I've been in Portugal, Spain and France and seen some really nice dresses in lovely fabric and wished they dold it in a 14 and not aged 5 to 6 years!!
So maybe I would as long as it was unlikely I'd bump into a kid wearing the same as me.

Well he clearly over reacted but i think it’s pretty unanimous that your own rudeness in messing around on your phone expecting other people to wait around doesn’t exactly cover you in glory either. I’m surprised he didn’t run to the office crying.

This is so bizarre.
When I was little my lovely mum used to make my dresses and would make a matching one for my Tiny Tears (remember them?) but I had no idea fashion companies made mummy and child clothing.
Why would any adult want that?

Buy it and own it. So if you do see a small girl wearing it you need to go over and tell her she’s got amazing taste 😊

Absolutely buy and wear it. They're not even the same dress. It's the same fabric but the cut and details are completely different. I like the dress and would possibly wear it myself if I wouldn't be afraid of turning it yellow with sun cream (not wearing sun cream is not an option for me when it's warm enough for sleeveless).

I think you posted in the wrong thread!

Both dresses are nice! I wouldn’t care. Buy the dress (if you like it).
