Evenings in smart-ish pubs on a UK Easter break?

UK break over Easter, we'll be eating in smart-ish pubs in the evening and I want to make a bit of an effort.

I'm early 50s, tall-ish, fairly slim and whilst not really across fashion, I like to look modern (if at all possible)! It will be jeans and fleeces during the day, but what can I wear at night??? Probably something with wide legs and trainers? I think dresses would be a bit OTT for where we're going, and its certainly not bare legs weather.

Just to add that I'm browsing M&S on line, they're got some very promising wide leg trousers, all styled with very minimal tops though, and I'm not going to be warm enough like that and an extra layer would ruin the outfit?

As Easter is so early, I’d go for something cashmere or merino. I love the styling of the cappuccino coloured merino one here with a white T just peeking out to give more definition , which would also look great with the navy ( in fact, it’s in my basket now!)
