Help! Need a dress for a family party

Need a dress for a family birthday party. It’s an evening party but in a village hall so nothing too ‘eveningy’. A lovely dress that I could use for smarter days at work would be great, or likewise a great skirt. Budget £250 - I’m a 10-12 and I have decent arms if that’s helpful!

What colours do you like? Any particular silhouette or shape?

Thank you so much @Defiantly41 off to peruse these on wolf and Badger- hadn’t thought of them. Thinking more along the lines of the Mavis or Aster - slightly less dressy so will be suitable for a smart work day
