Looking for wide fit shoes to go with this dress. Has anyone used Paradox London before? Also what colour would you go for?

Van Dal do wide smart shoes. Wide and extra wide and half sizes. I have quite a lot of their shoes as I need a wide half size.
Paradox were no good for me as I need a half size. Shame really as I liked the shoes.

StylishAndBeautiful · 09/03/2026 14:52

What occasion is it for? Will you wear it more than once?
What sort of shoes do you want - sandals, courts, wedge, high heels, flat, kitten heel, sling backs, ...?

Shoes don't have to match the outfit.
Can't help with Paradox, but Van.Dal or Gabor might have something.

Wedding so all day event. Ideally heel
of a couple of inches. More of a sandal than a court shoe but with a reasonable amount of ‘shoe’ (so more than just a thin strap across the front IYSWIM)

I was thinking nude or metallic colour but open to suggestions.

Esska do a wide fit and various heel heights. Could be perfect.

Metallic or leopard would be nice.

illsendansostotheworld · 09/03/2026 18:15

Sorry no help but l love that dress, where is it from?

OhDear111 · 09/03/2026 18:16

Some very clunky shoes! Flats look nice but some of the others are fully rooted in the 70s.

I found paradox very comfortable. It was a very elegant do so I was glad they were hidden mainly under my dress as they reminded me of my chunky student black tie footwear in the 90s! But for once my feet weren’t screaming by 10pm…

Great, now I want them and I have no place to wear them except Lidl as I work from home 🤣

LuckyCharmz · 09/03/2026 18:25

Yes I bought a pair of Paradox for a wedding last year, wore them all day and evening for dancing too, very comfy. They were open toe and I went down a size (I wear a 4 for width more than length, prob I’m a 3.5, these were a 36).
tried Esska but they are very heavy shoes, and even with a platform, too high. I wish they were just a tad lighter/ slightly lower platform and slightly lower heel, then they’d be perfect!

@illsendansostotheworldits potentially a bit uncool but Roman. Not got anything from there before but fits well and it’s a style that suits me

I have a pair of sparkly sandals from paradox and they're really comfortable. I wore them to DD's graduation and a wedding so they were on my feet for quite some time.

I've also got a pair of sparkly heels in a wider fit from pavers so they might be worth a look too

It’s a lovely dress. I’ve bought a few from them over the years for occasions, all been very good.

I'm not keen on metallic but it won't be me wearing them or looking at them, Both pairs are nice enough.
I'd say the metallic ones.
Order both and see which you like best?

(I'd probably wear some comfortable courts I already have because I know my feet wouldn't complain too much in them)
