Hollywoods going out of style?

I've just moved into a new town. I can only find one salon which offers a Hollywood.

Is the hair returning?

Yes. Outdated and why would you want one? I find any man who prefers that “look” to be very suss anyway….

I just has a look at the websites of every beauty place I can think of in my small town. They all offer Hollywood waxes. (The most expensive of these is a whopping £45! My excellent beautician charges £22.)

Why assume it’s for men?

@Inthebathagain does it matter if it’s ‘in style’?

I do it for me. Not my husband, not to be in style.

I was a Hollywood girl for 10 years but the last couple of times I’ve been I’ve had an extended bikini. Just wasn’t sure why I kept putting myself through the pain and expense!

According to my NDN's daughter who does hot waxing as a side hustle at Uni, the Gen Z thing is more like what I'd describe as a "chunky Brazilian" so off underneath but fairly full at the front.

Inthebathagain · 07/03/2026 20:59

My old one was £32 @AllSlippersareBanned , so you've got a bargain there!

I love the way it feels. I'm sticking with it. Why on earth do you think I'd be doing it for a man @Namechangerage ?

I came to the party late about 3 years ago - they were definitely available at every salon I looked at then.

It's shocked me that I can only find one salon offering the service. Which made me wonder if they're going out of fashion generally.

So it matters @Translatethedog if the only one in this new town is not very good!

Oh not that opinion again. Feel free to have a hairy minge but don't make out that men who like a clear area are dodgy.

I couldn't go back to a bush. Feels too sweaty 🙈
