Can I get away with these shades or do they look ill fitting

I’m on a budget so these were only £12

I’ve never worn sunglasses much because I feel I look bad in most shapes (I have a roundish face with bulbous nose)

Conscious they’re slightly too wide on edges? Is it very noticeable

They look too wide . Like comedy dressing up glasses !

pimplebum · 04/03/2026 20:22

I would not look twice. How do they feel ?

Blarn · 04/03/2026 20:23

Yes, too wide. You look like you might also be sat on a park bench, Reading a newspaper with eye holes cut in to it.

The shape is good, they are just too wide for your face.

Ipsevenenabibas · 04/03/2026 20:23

I'm so sorry but I feel they are too wide for your face. It's a shame as they are nice!

dudsville · 04/03/2026 20:24

I doubt I would've noticed just passing you in the street, but they do look too wide. Do they feel loose?

Does anyone know brands that do narrower sunglasses (less than £50)

Too wide definitely.bI think you need a squarer shape that falls further down your cheeks or maybe a cat eye shape.

OneQuirkyEagle · 04/03/2026 20:48

I dare you to sit on a bench next to a random stranger, wearing those glasses & utter the words: Did you bring the money?

Ophy83 · 04/03/2026 20:50

Go to next or accessorize and try a few pairs on.. btw your face doesn't look overly round and I'm sure your nose isn't bulbous!

legosnowqueen · 04/03/2026 21:09

TK Maxx is good for discounted sunnies..,

NotAWurstToIt · 04/03/2026 21:12

I did originally think they were too wide like PPs, but I think part of that is how you’ve covered your nose with the black shape, so they look a bit like comedy glasses with a fake nose attached! I covered the lower half of your face with my hand and they are a bit wide, but not ridiculous IYSWIM?

corblimeyguvnr · 04/03/2026 21:13

They are too wide for you.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 04/03/2026 21:17

I’m going against the grain and saying not too wide. I have a longish face and wide glasses balance that out.

Realscottishhaggis · 04/03/2026 21:18

Cat eye and a change of hair style would suit you better

MagnoliaTreeBlossom · 04/03/2026 21:25

I agree they look like too wide and a lot like the rear view spy glasses from the joke shop. Goodness knows who they would suit. Glad your returning them. 🕶

TK Maxx have a good selection and are reasonably priced. Sunglasses Hut have shops in bigger cities if you have one nearby. Trial and error has brought me to an oversize chanel pair and a pair of Oakleys I've had from the late 90s. Both completely different shapes and styles but bought suit me. Try on lots of styles and you'll find the right fit.

I get my sunglasses new from Vinted, or from Primark, through Primark might not stock them yet.
Personally, I don't like the style but the comments about you being a spy made me lol 😂

ThisSunnyBee · 04/03/2026 21:56

Too wide, also the opticians told me good quality sunglasses are really important to protect eye health, maybe you could save up for a better quality pair.

Blodyneighbour · 04/03/2026 22:01

Awful. For some reason it's setting off my OCD as one side is wider 😂

asparagusffern · 04/03/2026 23:28

They are definitely too wide for you. I have a narrow face and got a really well fitting pair of sunglasses in & Other Stories recently. They are an oval shape and came in black, tortoiseshell and dark green.

MyTrivia · 05/03/2026 02:22

I think they are too wide for your face, sorry.

abracadabra1980 · 05/03/2026 02:37

Too wide-don't suit.

TheGirlattheBack · 05/03/2026 02:44

I’d say you have an oval shape face. There are loads of guides on what glasses suit different face shapes https://miaburton.com/en/magazine/style/sunglasses-for-oval-face?srsltid=AfmBOooSEjtPDcc9pRZ4s4rQ77uFzPr6q8MV_AN78MgAHGJ4N0K3BzZR

Ignore the saving up for expensive ones comment, yes you need proper protection but as long as they have the kite mark they’re offering good protection regardless of price.

H&M have all the sunglasses shapes from the linked article for £10-£15. Try lots on. Also check supermarkets with clothing ranges.

Brand Alley, the online outlet, have great reductions on designer sunglasses, starting from £19.

too wide and your face isn’t round by the way
