Do any of these specialist shampoo/conditioners/gels really make any difference? If so, what’s best for fine, wavy, but damaged hi lighted hair?
Dont mind paying out if it’s worth it but they’re all pretty expensive to take a risk on.
Alternatively, is there anything on the high street that would be a good starting point?
Feel I need to embrace natural as hair has become so damaged as I’ve got older
Any thoughts appreciated 😁
The simpler, the better! 😉

Boots every day curl crème £1.99
Boots everyday curly mousse £1.60
Boots wet look gel £2.50(not ‘wet look’ after I scrunch it when it has dried).
I use these after my regular shampoo and conditioner on my wavy hair, and the results are better than I got with merwave.

Also ita important to remove build up with a clarifying shampoo once a month or so. I also use zjaja goats milk protein conditioner most days and my hair loves it. Faith in nature shampoos are curly girl approved as is umberto Gianni curl shampoo.

I'm a sucker for anything with goats milk, don't know why as it tends to whiff! Hadn't heard of this brand but it has good reviews - have you used any of their other products?

I'm on a FB group called "Charlotte Rich Wavy Girl Method" or similar and most of the products recommended are cheap high street brands. It's made a huge difference to my hair and I've bought maybe one expensive mousse from Amazon. Don't waste your money (but do look at the steps for the method, how to apply mousse etc.)
Which reminds me I'm almost out of the Aldi products they recommend.

I joined this a few weeks ago, don't follow all the hair washing tips but learning loads from the tips and products.

No just the conditioner on recommendation by my hairdresser. Its the mask one in a little tub. Doesn't smell too bad. My hair loves it though!

I’ve been out today and purchased the Umberto stuff - Curl jelly shampoo, conditioner, mouse and gel.
Thanks for all the recommendations 🤞🤞🤞

You may well need to do a cleansing shampoo before starting (I use a Cantu product every 3 months) and a deep condition (I don't find the UG are that good for a deep condition).

merwave has really worked for me. Umberto didn’t. I love the £1.99 boots curl creme though, but the boots curly mousse is rubbish.

My hair is very fine with a light wave. Not tried Merwave, and Only Curls is way too moisturising for me. I need far less moisture than a lot of curly sites suggest, but you’ll probably need more if your hair is damaged. Personally I use a leave in that I rinse out, and most washes I add a protein cream, plus mousse and/or a hard hold gel. I haven’t been so happy with my hair in years!

I didn't like Only Curls at all. I love the trepadora products but they are ££ so I use them for special occasions. Mostly I use Umberto Gianni gel & faith in nature shampoo & conditioner (the ones for curly hair).

I do get on with only curls and use it as my luxury spend.
But if I am totally honest, I think your combo of faith in nature of UG gel probably worked just as well on my hair!

I also like cantu custard as a gel.
