GHD dilemma

Ok so I know this isn't really a big problem in the scheme of things but I can't decide what to do. My GHD's are on their way out, they only heat up when they are still, as soon as I pick them up they go off. This happened with the last pair so I know I'll need to replace them soon but it annoys me as they are two years old so past the guarentee which is what happened last time. So I rang the manufacturers helpline today and was told to send them back, they will see if they can be repaired and the girl I spoke to said I'd mst likely"get something from them" but that they may well charge me because they are past the guarentee.

The problem is that I cannot be without them! I don't know how long it would take to get them there, fixed/replaced and sent back especially as I've lost the receipt and bocx and I really don't have the kind of hair that I can just leave and not style(I've got a fringe). So should I just buy new ones? If I do should I send the old ones in anyway? It seems wasteful doesn't it if they could be fixed?

Hmm that is a good idea. I'm tempted just to order a new pair though as they do next day delivery and so at least I'd have them in time for my holiday saturday. I wonder if I should still send the old ones off in case they can fix them though. They said I'd be charged postage for them to send them back and I'd already have paid to send them off. I feel they should do something though, they should last longer than two years.

Good plan, sunnytimes, I've ordered new ones but think I will still send the old ones back, if they replace them then maybe I could sell them although I don't know where! Or keep as spares or something.
