Meanwhile, I am determinedly working my way through miniatures - reducing my stash one mini at a time, (and NOT replacing- no more teeny tiny sizes for Pond!)

Mine arrived today too. I've not been home long so haven't unboxed it yet.

My CB order turned up too.

Did vaguely toy with getting the SNK gwp and selling on but as pointed out it's not great so probably wouldn't get much more than £20 for it.

The Liberty gwp was disappointing. Again relieved because it's a high spend.

The Harrods one they do with the tote bag should be out end of April/early May (assuming they do it again). If I go for any high spend gwp this year it would probably be that one.

Elf have just released this. Does this actually appeal to anyone?

Emma Lewisham is now at Cult Beauty. Pleased about that as I'm really enjoying the serum from the Liberty edit last year but it's an expensive one and I can probably get a better deal from CB if I want to repurchase.

Edit: It's the Elixir not the the serum I'm using. They do a refill pack which is good and cheaper.

I have also caved on the CB GWP on vinted. Hopefully it's not dodgy, because if it is legit then what a bargain 🤞

i like a couple of things but not enough to buy.

Estee Lauder have the new reformulated Double Wear on sale and it stacks with the new customer 15% discount, plus free postage, plus a sample and 4.2% TCB.

Not one I've tried before as I never thought it would work for me but I swatched in Boots today. Decided for £26.86 I would give it a whirl.

I'm looking forward to the Harrods one 😍

Apropos storage boxes. Did anyone used to watched Trinny’s skincare and wellbeing YouTube videos a few years ago before she started her skincare company?
When she was living with Saatchi, she used to film in this large, light bathroom and behind there was a wall of Muji like containers with all the products. I always thought that was a good storage idea because you can see everything. But it somehow spoiled the neat bathroom design.
In my dream home where I would have my own personal bathroom (big enough to fit a sofa and a coffee table and two sinks and a mini spa and normal bathroom stuff) … I would keep all this concealed floor to ceiling cabinets. I have the tons of products but missed the said bathroom.

TLDR: you only have to pay tax if you are selling items at a profit and make over £1000 profit

I have a range of very mis-matched storage from TK Maxx for my makeup, scent and daily use hair stuff, all on top of the chest of drawers.

Plus the recently purchased WHOLE ACTUAL CHEST OF DRAWERS for my stash. 😳

My life is just one long pursuit of the perfect storage solution. I’m still searching…

It's difficult to define with beauty stuff as obviously you're only allowed to sell new items so if you sell quite a lot it can look like a business. Anything I've bought retail price (and can evidence) then changed my mind about is definitely a loss because you don't get much on Vinted - on average maybe 20% of what you paid.

Selling off bits from Advents, GWPs, beauty boxes is less clear because occasionally you can sell bits you don't want and break even or even profit even if it's not intentional.

I sold a blush I got as a gwp worth around £25. Sold it for £9, I didn't pay anything for it so technically that's profit but the purpose of acquiring in the first place wasn't reselling I bought something else I wanted and that was the current freebie from the brand.

It sat in a drawer in its box for a few months until eventually I had a declutter and decided it wasn't my colour. If stuff like that means people end up liable for tax I guess we'd have to just give away to F&F or bin stuff that's perfectly usable.

Even if you do buy something with a gwp thinking I'll sell the gwp on to offset costs where does that leave you?

Even 2nd hand clothes are tricky. Due to weight gain and loss over a decade I've got clothes ranging from size 10-18. Some people do have a side hustle in reselling charity shop finds. How do you distinguish between clear outs and buy to sell. Often a range of sizes is cited as evidence of reselling but anyone who says that has never met a middle aged woman who has kept stuff in the loft for 20 years. 😂

I suppose if it became a headache I'd force myself to buy less because sites like Vinted and Ebay existing give you headroom to make mistakes and change your mind which factors into retail purchasing habits.

I'm building up to a whole chest of drawers and a dressing table. I just need to redecorate the bedroom which I'm putting off because I hate doing it.

In other news: I have completely refilled my Liberty a/c, with double, triple and even the odd quad doors.

I can no longer use ‘filling my a/c’ as an excuse to buy stuff, (and it’s only Feb🙀)

You could find another empty advent calendar. I have about 5 now that seem too good throw away. 😂

Don’t encourage me @OvaHere 😹 Last year I refilled my Shiseido box and a Clarins 12 day. I will try to restrain myself from filling these up as well for Xmas 26.

What I might do is give DH some/all of the Liberty Beauty Drop stuff to put into the 12 day calendar and he can fill up other doors himself. He did a good job on this in Xmas 24, but his effort last Xmas was a bit disappointing, so I don’t know if it’s a good idea or not!

Pay day tomorrow so my "spending money" budget will magically renew. Will look on vinted for the CB gap, but how are you all managing to find them? I might also try the EL double wear stack although will need a new email address 🙈 and perhaps another Decree serum...

Just looking at the SNK. That Refy should be in a sachet, 4ml that's barely anything and it's in plastic. I know I sound sanctimonious but honestly 4ml why bother, in fact I'm so sad I worked out it's worth £2.17. 😄
