Please help me find an industrial strength concealer for my rosacea!

I have used Benefit Bo-ing industrial strength concealer for a long time which worked well. Sadly, Benefit stopped making it and I have now used up my supplies. I have rosacea on my face, so a concealer with a thick consistency, not a runny liquid is essential. Anything I use has to be suitable for mature, sensitive skin containing no irritants like alcohol or parabens. I will use green toned corrector when needed, but a good concealer is important. My rosacea is being treated by my GP, but hasn’t gone yet.

Thank you for any suggestions lovely style and beauty people!

100% read ingredients. You may find a tinted moisturiser or similar works better for you than a heavy concealer. Look at brands like Ilia skin tint, Lisa Eldridge , Rare beauty and Westman atelier. Mostly all very good re ingredients for your skin type.
Have you done any diet research? If not I'd encourage you to do that as certain foods don't help. x

Thank you!

I’m avoiding caffeine, alcohol and spicy food as they seem to make things worse.

Take a look at the merit beauty complexion stick. It’s a sort of cross between a concealer and a foundation and comes in lots of shades.

MiaKulper · 19/02/2026 19:01

Thanks. Probably goes much further too.

Trinny London makes a thick concealer in a pot called Just a Touch , it reminds me of Bo-ing.

I use double wear maximum coverage to cover pigmentation in the summer. It’s camouflage foundation and will cover everything! And it’s on sale now!

Nars soft matte

MiaKulper · 19/02/2026 20:33

I have Estee Lauder 'Disappear' concealer and it's budgeproof. I think it was discontinued years ago.

Ineedanewsofa · 19/02/2026 20:34

I use the Eborian CC linked above as my base and the Eborian Super BB concealer over the top.
If I’m going ‘out, out’ or want heavier coverage I use Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter foundation as the base with the same concealer.
I do occasionally use the Vichy Dermablend foundation that covers literally everything but is very matte so needs a bright concealer like Rodial banana lowlighter to lift it and a little contour so the face doesn’t look flat.

Do you take any supplements? I ask Beto found that my rosacea is exacerbated by b vitamins. Specifically b12 which I tried for brain fog.

Inmyownlittlecorner · 19/02/2026 20:38

I use Altruist tinted moisturiser under Clinique’s rosacea tinted moisturiser & it works a treat.

FiatLuxAdAstra · 19/02/2026 20:41

How are you treating it? Is your GP aware of the link between rosacea and an overpopulation of demodex mites? Have you tried treatments to reduce the mites?

Smartiepants79 · 19/02/2026 21:28

It’s also made considerably worse by make up…

suki1964 · 19/02/2026 22:20

Jane Iredale covers everything.

its not modern nor trendy but its worth a look

In my case make up soothed- op I used glossier primer/ Aimee Connolly, Roc posay spf and clarins cc cream. It took a lot of navigating to get there though and actually found through suggestions on mn x. I spray over make up with mac spray fx.

I will warn you that almost every rosacea moisturiser recommended as ‘for rosacea’ gave me flare ups that had me crying. Weirdly anything moisturising by avene or roc posay that isn’t for roseacea does the job😅

Therescathairinmybath · 19/02/2026 22:37

Thank you so much for all your helpful suggestions. I just didn’t know where to start looking for a new product. I’m going to try out several products over the next few weeks.

@Smartiepants79 I don’t take any B vitamins as I am aware they can cause skin issues. I only wear make up if I need to look a bit smarter and I’m leaving my face bare most of the time.

@FiatLuxAdAstra my GP has given me Soolantra to use for the next few months. I have the inflammatory type of rosacea which will hopefully respond well to the treatment. I have been told to go back to the surgery if my skin doesn’t improve or gets worse.

This! Both dh and I now wash our eyes and eyebrows with a tea tree wash formulated for eyes - it kills the kites too. We no longer have Rosacea.

Years ago when I had very marked and extensive facial bruising after periodontal work, I used Thin Lizzy concealer, which was graded fit or post medical use. The lovely assistant helped me try on various shades. It's very good and stays put.
Having said that, it's Australian so might not be available OTC in the UK and I appreciate you'd want to try on various shades.

Thundertoast · 19/02/2026 23:07

You might already be sorted for a green colour corrector, but in case you fancy something new, a friend uses the Dr Jart one and swears by it!
On the concealer side, lots of great suggestions but on the cheaper side, NYX Cant Stop Won't Stop might be worth a go as thats surprisingly opaque.

I have sensitive skin and this has never irritated me. It is pigmented, you can mix it with moisturiser to make a foundation or use neat and there’s a lot of swatches and tips on google
when I say pigmented, to do your whole face mixed with moisturiser you need a bit the size of a grain of rice. My pot is 3 years old and I’ve barely dented it
